haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Look I touched him with my pads! Haaaaaaaaaaaa! :) ....This SportsKarate is so far away from what this whole karate do system is actually meant to be...Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I wouldn't even mind some kind of points based light or mid contact system but you're right, the exaggerated range and ability to score by tagging your opponent makes it's far removed from classical karate or kata. Karate was originally an infighting and clinch based art, to be honest I'd be much happier if they were just allowed to grapple and work more from the clinch

You don’t understand karate and the evolution of change. They are skilled surgeons moving super quickly and controlling impact. Look up karate combat Rafael had a match there and maybe that is what you are looking for.
@ansgaranzinger4935 жыл бұрын
I know this fight and of course I see that Raphael is a super skilled karateka....But what I meant is: the evolution of change you are speaking of leads to a abstract and degenerated way of fighting. ...far away of a fighting system that combines all aspects of self defense (which it all has!). You can see this in the separation of kumite and self defense in many karate styles. Official Kumite is so far away from a useful system to protect yourself against skilled fighters on the street and even the kata bunkai nowadays is more like a circus performance. I do karate now for almost 43 years (shotokan and kyokushin) but I had to train tai chi and hapkido to find out the principles of karate ... The funny thing is that in a kumite fight you are restricted to the bone by rules (of course it is sports) and pads (look at the form!)so that you are extremely limited in what you can do. But free your mind and body and start learning karate :)

Go and fight them with no pads and no need of control and you gonna break your fucking nose in the first strike.
