Hello...thank you for your video! It is so good to have a video from a native from Basel and not only from tourists. I will visit Basel for one day in June 2020....I have a USA Passport but my friend will have a VISA for visiting Switzerland. Is there a problem to take a tram to the '3 Countries Bridge'? I read that sometimes authorities will stop trams or buses and examine everyone's travel documents. I will have no problem but I am afraid for my friend. I think it will still be too cold to swim in the Rhine in the 3rd week of June, so I want to visit a museum. Do you recommend going to the Tingley Museum and the Kunstmuseum? We will spend about 6-7 hours in Basel. Also, what is your favorite cafe? - Thank you again!

Jade Martin Hi! Thanks for your nice comment! If your friend will have a Schengen Visa, I think it should not be a problem, but please double check that! The three borders are in the west of Basel, whereas the Tinguely Museum is in the east. That would also be the museum I would visit as you will not see this kind of art in any other museum. The Kunstmuseum is more like a regular museum. But given that you only spend 6hrs in the city, I would propose you do things close to each other. In the city you will find another quirky museum, the toy museum (Spielzeug Welten Musem Basel). Closeby you will find the Tinguely fountain (as in the video) and you can go and have a coffee at famous local bakery-patisserie cafes called either Beschle or Bachmann. I also really like Cupcake Affair! I hope this helps you and if you have more question, please ask! Enjoy your trip to Basel!

@@SwitzerlandInsider Thank you for your answer! We will have Swiss Travel Passes so we will be happy to jump on buses and trams. We have never been to France so maybe it would be nice to spend a little time there,...although that area (near St Louis) may not be as nice as Basel....We will listen to your advice and walk along the river...and visit some cafes near the Spalentor too!
