Why is it that a Basenji is unable to bark?
Because their larynx is extremely flat in comparison to other breeds, these dogs are unable to bark properly. As a result, they are unable to produce the powerful sound blast associated with a typical bark. They are not, however, quiet dogs. They make yodeling, howling, growling, and other noises.
Are Basenjis a noisy breed?
Basenjis don't usually bark, but they can make a lot of noise, including yodels, whines, and screams. They are difficult to train. For thousands of years, Basenjis have survived by being independent thinkers. They don't see the point in obeying humans.
