Basenjis have been described as cats wearing a dog suit. Yes, they are escape artists! We had a picket fence. The pointed tops kept our dogs from climbing over. We absolutely adored our Basenjis!!

I have so many things to say about Basenji, I have girl (2,5 years), main points, shortly. She is cute but very stubborn, hates raining weather. Super hype. Needs to run with other dogs off leash every day, even 3 hours walk on leash is not enough to keep her satisfied. This is very challenging in the city. So my understanding that they WILD in all meaning of this. E.g., if any other breeds see a car - don’t pay attention, Basenjis are impressed in the city by everything, looks like a girl from countryside came for the 1st time to NY, it takes longer to adapt to city stuff (transport, crowdy) you need to keep your attention on them all the time, no time to drink coffee or scroll your phone while you are walking with Basenji ) At home (in case she got her walking running time) she like a cat, very clean and soft, is not destroying things as other dogs can do, so even shoes or whatever mine on the floor is ok, it surprised me, because i thought if they hyper - at home it will be mess.

Don't try to move them or pick them up when they're sleepy or you'll have a very angry basenji!

Thank you so much for the video. I was considering one. Research on them seemed like a good fit except the part on how trainable they were. I fugured looking up videos on them would help me get an idea. I won't be getting one anymore lol. I'm glad though, I'd hate to be the wrong home.

I rescued my basenji from my local pound hes definitely a mix of something else and not a full breed basenji but it explained so so much when someone on the street asked me if that was his breed when i walked by with him hes very rambunctious and is very smart but listens pretty good for the most part

If you can manage to get them into a routine then it seems to help basenjis stay out of trouble or you can start to notice actions they take to get into trouble from a 18 year old basenji we once had.

My partner's cousin rescued one of these and its a hunting MACHINE. Its actually scary. He smelled our cat and wanted to come inside. I was terrified. Hes big and strong so it would be hard to fight him off. Horrifying dog mix.

Tigers only choose one tiger to partner with for life. So If a tiger chooses you, it’ll love you until death. But it’ll hate everyone else! 💯

Since Ive seen a few bad takes in the comments I'm going to try explain a few things, The reason why he was "Hitting" the big cats was because The Lioness was playing with the Zoo keeper and the Leopard (Using context from other comments) was trying to Play Fight with the Zoo Keeper which would disturb the Lioness that he was next to which would have started a Fight. The Tiger (Using some Context from other comments again) Seems to be Trained and understood what was happening as soon as the Leopard moved closer along with the way it grabbed the Leopard being a method to threaten it, due to that being the way that Tiger attack prey in the wild and the Zoo keeper first said "Gracias" then gave the Tiger a light tap because I presume he wanted the Tiger to move away to avoid scaring the Leopard further, Hope this clears things up :D.

You can tell the leopard wanted to play because of how it lays on its back. But he still could have (accidentally) hurt the zookeeper so it's good the tiger stepped in.

I think that tiger was actually trained security. Here are the clues: -Tiger's placement at the trainer's 6:00 spot -Tiger observing the leopard and posturing up as soon as he acted suspicious -Trainer told the Tiger 'gracias' (thank you) without seeing what happened behind him, which suggests he knows there's only one reason it could have happened: the tiger was making an interception.

Thanks for this upload. I’ve heard many times about the famous Basenji yodel. I never knew that it could be unique in pitch. It also seems like this breed is affectionate which is a plus…unfortunately I’m not home enough to care for a dog. Thanks again.

I don't understand why human beings continue to believe that they can coexist with lions tigers leopards all big cat predators, they are wild animals they are born with an instinct kill and eat that is their nature they do not do it out of anger or Revenge they do it to survive leave them alone until their nature is change in the New World to come
