Hey! It's Back! 👌😊👍 Have you seen the DasHex 1/24 MOA crawlers? 😮😃 I think THOSE AXLES on a torsion chassis like the Mantis would Be AMAZING
@Gamyrc3 жыл бұрын
They would but the $180 entry price just to get a set of axles powered by a $5 n20 geared motor is just a bit hard to get over😔. That being said, those axles would make for some awesome lightweight builds👍

If you install dual-escs and set it to around 15% overdrive, you will get up the top box with ease, when engaging 4WD at 1:22 minutes (Edit: I meant 0:16 min ..lol). I can send you a wiring grid on Facebook, if needed.

do you sell this STL stingray?, I'm interested in buying it, because if I buy the finished product, the postage will be too expensive for me

Where do I get parts for this build? Im gonna buy the chassis kit but cant find any of the axle stuff?
What is the difference between the different Stingray chassis options you offer? I didn't see a video on it. Any reason the V5 Deluxe is not available in PA12? Do you recommend keeping the chassis thin and light anyway?
@Gamyrc2 жыл бұрын
V4 does not have rear axle articulation and V5 does. PA12 is only available on some prints because Shapeways claims it wont print on that specific model (I call bs but you know). With these chassis weight is not really an issue, they are extremely light regardless and the heavy axles make up for it.

Gamyrc, Is there something wrong about my comment? It keeps disappearing...?? Edit: Seem like YT doesn't like the links I added. No idea why that is. Search for "AS12/6RW EASY" esc.

Not sure what was up with that message🤷🏻♂️. As for the overdrive, yeah it sounds good in paper but in practice it didnt go as easy😅. I tried different setups including using a 50t motor up front and a 70t in the back for front overdrive and it was just as hard. Even when using combination if dig and no dig it was a mess! Lol. Its just a difficult maneuver which I was just lucky to catch on video before loosing my mind!🤣

Now I do plan on eventually running dual esc not so much for the overdrive but for better motor modulation as the stock esc which I am using here is very limited in its capability.

@@Gamyrc Then it's just a matter of practice and finding the "sweet spot". The guy, who did it first, has extreme flex and a super light build. Your doesn't flex that much (which I believe, will give you a better overall performance). Different build style means different driving style. You don't need both front tires over the edge. All you need is one front tire to hook..at 0:16 min.. engage 4WD and up you go. You need to stay in the forward action moment. As the second front tire grabs, the chassis will swing around.... that's the sweet spot! ...gas it.. and done! Make use of the forward or upward movement and swing action. You build is made for this!! (Furitek Lizard or AS12/6RW EASY)

@@rcrockcrawler Yes this is a much heavier build than his which is why it was such a pain to accomplish😅. But I was also not using any weights on front tires to aid in its ability to hold the top which should help a bunch. As for only needing the front tire and then switching to 4wd yes and no. The issue here being that what gave me the most problem was not so much grip but axle interferrance because the Basher has huge axles as compared to those used by that guy. My best bet was to get as close to having both tires over prior to engaging the rear tires because all it would do is use the bottom of the axle as a "ramp" to push it off the box. I have this chassis limited as compared to the V5 chassis with the idea that less is more and in this case it pays off because it allows me to "hug" the box as I make my way around it. The idea was to get as far away from the edge as I could and then climb like he did. I also refused to use rear steer as it would be "cheating" when compared to how he achieved it. Rear steer should've made this a walk in the park. Ill soon make a video going step by step on how it can be done as many have been filling my inbox with questions of HOW!!! 😅🤣. Best case scenario would make use of all benefits available including 4wd, 4ws, dig, front overdrive, weighted wheels up front (not rear for obvious reasons), and possibly cut tires for better grip although I really like these tires and may just leave alone🤣.

@@Gamyrc Looking forward to the video! I don't think you need 4WS... less weight on the rear. Everything else.. 👍👍 I'd love to see you test the scramblers (stock foams or even better dual stage due to the weight)!

@@Gamyrc how much did it cost to build it (I assume you made it)
@Gamyrc3 жыл бұрын
@@Iamsupafly I sell the chassis kit on Shapeways. Its $55. You need a Basher Rocksta as a donor. And if you want dig like mine a simple wireless on/off switch can interupts rear motor power for dig effect.
