The child is father (teacher ) of the man. One thing I could not understand in Islam is that we are taught that our destiny is already predetermined. Later on I realized that if our Creator did not know our future then He will not be All-knowing. This is a crucial attribute of the Creator. Then I got the answer from my little granddaughter when she was still a toddler. The first thing she used to do when she came to my house was to run to the staircase and climbed up the stairs and I had to follow her lest she fell down the stairs. So as an elderly person I knew her habits. Then I realized that the fact that I knew what she was going to do does not mean that I instigated her to go up the staircase. So my knowledge did not have anything with her actions which were motivated by her own volition. Then I realized that similarly the Creator's knowledge is not the motivator of our actions. He has given us freewill yet He knows what we will do since He is all knowing. Just as I could have have penned down what my little granddaughter would do before she actually does it similarly the Almighty could get our destiny written down before we actually live it. So my granddaughter taught me one of the most complex mystery of life.

Not really. You had prior experience to know what your granddaughter would do. If God is all knowing he would know your whole life before you lived it and since he is not wrong no matter what choices you think you were making by God's knowledge you'd just be falling in line.

there's a difference there because you didn't create every molecule that she is made of and set them into action specifically for those things to happen, and you also didn't create the world around her nor her every experience. another thing is that you wouldint torture her for what she did.

But she's still a child, and children's brains take time to accommodate, she's a kid, so she doesn't know what she's doing, at a certain age where she reaches rationality, that rationality will depend on how you've taught her, and how external factors like friends, trauma, some sights, anything she saw or heard.

hi i hope somebody answers me in the example he gave in the minute 4:37 about the genes those genes gave us muscles but how we use them is our choice but god is the all knowing so he knows what we are going chose so he is not influencing our choice he only knows it? but i think this is wrong because nothing happens without his will and even if i have two choices the evil and the good then even if i chose the evil it is still written on the tablets الصحف الأولى then this means that i was already predestined to pick evil so is the answer to that dilemma is that god knew that i was going to be evil so he already wrote it but still he gave me the free choice so that he will be just on the day of judgment? if somebody knows more than i do then please educate me

As far as I know the will of Allah divide by 2 that's kauni & syar'i. (Kauni mean creation, not only matter be created but also action in this universe.) Kauni will is anything happens in this world even the murder of innocent person, everything we do and we Will do is by kauni will. But even the Allah is want the bad act happens it doesn't mean the love it. ( Yes, I know this is hard to grasp). The syar'i Will is what Allah want every person in this world doing in their life. That's is.

If we understand the concept of time, space and His knowledge, it becomes easier to understand Qadr. Firstly time and space does not apply to Him, therefore there is no such thing as He knew and he wrote. Instead it is He knows. There is no such thing as past or future for Him. Moreover He has all knowledge over all that we know and that we don't know. Therefore he knows what you will do aswell. To understnad Qadr, Imam Birghivi classifies into two types; paraphrased in the quotation, '1 that which is inevitable and 2 that which is choice dependent through will of human'. Both have are overaching, and dependent on His will. Therefore you have of 'will' to choose and Allah knows it. The idea of it written in a tablet may confuse us, the philosophical understanding is much deeper and it is not the literal tablet (that which you write on). To grasp time, space and His knowledge takes contemplation. iA we get a better understanding of it.

I can think of an example I hope it helps .Lets take for example a child has two dishes infront of him. His mother knows his son very well. And she knows which one will he choose to eat from. But she does not force him to eat. He takes by his own free will. Now the mother did not forced him just bcoz she knew. But again we are humans and humans have error in their thinking but Allah is Our creator and He is the All Mighty. He knows Everything. But he has given us free will. And also he Is very Just. He never punish anyone innocent. Every person is given a sign. Allah Is forgiving And love to forgive.

Its both. Its a hard concept to grasp when viewing through a human lense. God is all powerful so of course theres nothing God doesnt know, including the future. After one hour you decided not to go (This is free will). Now we will go back one hour ago. Allah knows that you will not go even when the event has not started yet. This is the worst response ever. So are you predestined or not? The issue here is knowledge is only one part, then there is will and action. Ofcourse God would know what will happen that ks not the same as willing it to happen. If you have freewill then you can chose evil and good, and then things can happen outside of Gods will because you have chosen to do evil. If you do not have free will and are predestined to commit the evil then God has willed you to do it and he willed evil into the world. How then can you be punished for actions you had no choice but to commit? How is God not evil for creating the evil in the world? It goes against his attributes? Either God is unjust and wills all evil or he is not in control of all and allows full freewill. What is it?
