Thanks! It takes me a while for me to fully memorize my form. I know the first half, so watching your video made it easier to do the second half.

I should know this by week 3? I'm 4 months in hahaha. You explained it really well. Hopefully, I can test as this is the only thing holding me back.

Thank so much, I was a red belt last year then quit, now I’m trying to get back and learn them again! Hope I can testabd get back to that belt, I really wanna just do sword but. Thanks!

Take your time. It will come back faster than you know. Coming back demonstrates humility, a great trait.

I agree but ti be honest, the front stance could be deeper but this is geared for white belts. I usually refine it later in the training.

identical to the first kata I learned in Sho Rin Ryu it was called Taikyoku Shodan same punch / block and even the same pattern.

Very similar to kookiwan Taekwondo forms. My 7 year old does form 1-5 wtf Taekwondo. Now he's learning Shotokan karate.

Is it just me but when I look at it in a KZfaq vid I learn it faster then when I’m in the dojang it only takes one day to learn from a KZfaq vid also thanks

What in the F... Today I found out that all the Taekwondo Taegeuk forms I was taught in the 80s here in the Philippines are karate forms... and then I watched the actual Taegeuk forms and they are significally different. I don't know what's going on.

If you want to understand Tang Soo Do commands, look for an app. I have one and it may still be available.

I was just wondering why your fist did not go down to your belt. In the Tae-Kwon-Do school that I go to we bring are fist all the way down to the belt.

We are aiming at the solar plexus, middle punch. It sounds like you are doing a low punch.

No, you misunderstood me. I meant when we pull our hand back we pull it back to the belt. We punch from the belt.

Thanks for the clarification. I noticed that also. It's just a style difference. Pulling back represents protecting the ribs while being fully prepared to punch.

I'm a grandmother, trying to learn. They have kids teaching me, and needless to say, they go too fast and too many steps. This is just the right speed with all the terminology.

I learned a while ago that we must not assume that we all learn the same way, there are style differences. My Chief Grand Master (10th Dan) teaches it this way. This is his way. In summary, the form is complete.

First you need to be clear about the word karate. People use that word to mean martial arts when it is a style of martial arts. However, the answer is, I do not know. I don't even know how many forms there are in my style, why? I only know what my Grandmaster teaches me. As the saying goes, he probably forgot more than I know.:). Thanks for the question Sarath.

Lesa Coon one thing my master teach is flexibility of thought. Maybe your school call it base, my school call it basic. Does it really matter? I hope you get the value of a free demonstration. Stay flexible, it sparks creativity.
