Great video. Very informative. No unnecessary chit chat or footage. Keeping me motivated when I see your videos. Not being from a military background it’s difficult sometimes to motivate yourself because you forget that feeling that military life gives you because you’re not surrounded by it. But seeing your videos reminds me of what I’m training for and why I want it so much. Excellent stuff. 🙏 👍

illuminati Anthony they do it by BMI and since I’m under 18 I needed a BMI of 17 or more, I’m quite skinny and tall so mine came out to 16.8 so I needed to put on 2-3 kilos more and come back so I could be above my target BMI, but if you’re over 18 you need a BMI of 18 or more 👍🏻

Kian George I’m not in the Army yet, hopefully I’ll be starting my application in a few weeks. But I was the same, I was underweight for about two years but in this past months I’ve somehow managed to gain half a stone- I mainly did it by gaining muscle in the gym, so maybe that will work for you too! And remember after the gym, have a protein shake as that helped me put the weight on! Good luck!!

Riding a Lion don’t stress it the assessment isn’t challenging at all and really easy, I got deferred for being slightly underweight but I’m coming back soon. There’s no shouting there’s nothing challenging it’s absolutely fine just make sure that you’re ready for the run the mid thigh pull and the medicine ball throw. It’s really laidback and all the staffs are nice so there’s nothing to worry about just don’t step on the grass that’s the only rule 😂

Yep, I spent 3 or. 4 years in cadets in teenage years, 413 Aldershot Squadron. Air Cadets but taught the same skills and plenty of exercises away for full weekends or longer and also on the cadet evenings, all around Aldershot, Mytchett, Pirbright and Farnborough. The long weekend exercises on Hankly Common were always intense but a lot of fun. Learned life skills. Should bring back national service as the way the country is going and the lack of respect and behaviours we see are concerning.

Tip: when handling mess tin, treat it like any other metal utensil at home, use a micro fibra cloth, tip buy a portable gas stove and take basic, see what they say about that and cheap frying pan, hahahah. when i go the Philippines they do not have gas or electric so i use a portable gas stove. time the army to get in the 21st century not 19th, portable gas stove weighs nothing, plus learn to build a fire to cook on, like my people do in the Philippines, they build a fire and cook, cause no gas or electric. i am sure many of you go camping with the scouts

how about tipping the food, straight in to the mess tin and cooking ? saving the water for drinking, and i was chef in the army, and chef in real life. stirring the food all the time, meaning you eat straight from the mess tin, and you will scold yourself not burn, scold is wet heat, burn is dry it, and i am also level one para medic, these guys are total drips, that need to go back to training themselves, nothing worse then the blind leading the blind. In my day food was in tins, we called it dog food and tipped straight in to mess tin and cooked, failing that , just have a number one field kitchen in your supply line. or the naafi wagon, you have ambulances on runs, so have field kitchens on exercises.

Try removing these bunjees at 0300 hrs in a wood in pitch dark when you have to bug out / quick move. Better to use green string and you can just rip / cut the ties super quick... job done! Ex Para.

We used to use hootchie cord with a slip knot. You'd set up, then drop the ridge lines so it would drop to the ground. After stand to, when it was dark, you'd retie the lines with qd knots, and try to gonk until your guard.

..other armies have a tent with a kiln for heating. This works, but this is basically a squad fighting separated from the main army if they had to rely on that equipment. A rain protection is great, but not to carry a lot of shit - thats why you have logistics

Haha happy days.

TIP: When cooking in a mess tin, treat it like cheap frying pan at home, if the food starts to stick or burn, add a little water, if you want to teach people how to cook in mess tins, use a Army Catering Corp Chef, we never once burnt food in a mess tin, be a chef before trying to teach recruits to cook in mess tins, use a Royal Logistic Corp Chef, A mess tin is the same as a cheap frying pan at home, learn to use a cheap frying pan at home, before you get basic training. I am a 18 year Army Catering Corp Chef and Ex Royal Air Force Steward and Ex Hotel Restaurant Manager, I now own my own company and food bank. Stop Treating Recruits and the public as Fools.

Why is the Corporal referring to a poncho when in fact it's a basha tarp. A poncho has a hole for a head ,whereas the tarp he uses and refers to a poncho isn't a poncho!
