I really like those deep, low rumbling drones more than the high end screeches. Absolutely amazing sonic possibilities. Excellent demo.

Great video.. but you got the explanation of the Hyper LFO slightly wrong: the AND setting is for multiplying the frequencies, the OR setting is for adding the frequencies. Anyway, it's an amazing machine.. well worth the asking price.

Hey, THANKS for sharing and giving a decent demo of this unique piece of gear! I’m really digging it’s on board effects, and the feedback loops seem to give a lot of flexibility, and likely bendability! I’m really anxious to hear the external jack on the back of it. I want to hear just what it sounds like, how it can modify and/or transform the external signal being routed through it... as long as I can make some cash, this baby is on my list of gear to buy. At first I thought that the ‘no Volt/Octave pitch tracking’ (or lack of) feature was a serious deal breaker, but now I’m seeing it as a deal maker. After all, who owns an in tune set of bagpipes? Tuning it by ear means that much opportunity for micro-tuning, and subtle deviations that normally do well with sounds. EXCELLENT demo, it builds enthusiasm as the time goes on progressing, and the sounds literally evolve from mehdium on up, finishing with professional! Thanks again, I’m gonna let Soma know that youve sold me on this thing😉!

It seemed like once you let go of having to “splain” stuff to us that you conjured the ghost in the machine and it gave you a bit of the magic carpet ride..

i struggle to really understand the 34>56 78>12 FM structure switch. "The 34>56 78>12 FM structure switch sets the overall structure for FM synthesis. If voices are selected for all the FM modulation sources, the downward position of the switch turns Lyra into two separate structures of cross-modulation, each group locked into itself. The sources correspond to the numbers by the switch. With the switch up, pair 34 becomes the mod source for pair 56, and pair 78 the mod source for pair 12 (pairs 12 and 78 themselves are still modulated as indicated by their controls)."

Hi Ron thanks for a very useful overview to the lyra-8. The led light on my hyper LFO section behaves normally but the light is red not green. Do you know whether this is just a colour variation or is it an indication of something else? Thanks for any advice re this.
