This video doesn't give enough credit to Madhesis . Except for Soms who were Pahari (Parbatye), the rest Gopal, Mahispal, Licchavi, Thakuri, Malla and Sen of the east and mid west were all from either Bihar or Bengal. Plus, The Mallas and Sens were Karnatakvamshis and claimed to descend from Karnataka. The Mallas made it compulsory that only priests from Karnataka could be the head priest of Kathmandu. This was to pay tribute to their Karnat ancestry. This video also does not mention the Bengali sens who ruled over Dharan (then known as Biyajapur), Sikkim, Makawanpur. After Gorkhas defeated Sens they also had to fight a bloody war with Bengali muslims.

I don't know how Nepal didn't earn the "honorary whites" nickname like the Japanese did, repelling Britain was arguably a greater feat than beating Russia in a naval war
@Saturnius
@Saturnius 3 ай бұрын
Because Nepal is not a developed nation. The idea of honorary whites or any arbitrary racial classification is a purely emotional one with no regard for nuance or logic. It is not history or fact that such people are concerned with, they want to make what they think into objective reality.

It always shocks how little it is discussed about the Kirat Dynasty, they were the only dynasty who ruled these lands for more millennium, yet very little things are recorded. How they came, settled and ruled inside the valley. Also, the war with shahs is always hastily concluded that it was a quick war and the kirats lost. It didnt actually. It was actually war of stagnation, where the shahs tried to annex the kingdom for several times yet without any success they returned. Finally a treaty was singed with the shah, in which the treaty states the kingdom of kirat will be included with kingdom of Nepal and the citizens will accept them as their new rulers, but they have to let the citizens to carry on with their own culture and religion (Which they didn't followed as promised) and the property and wealth of citizen will not be confiscated by the new appointed rulers. Since the looming danger of british as well as the ambitious shahs, it was not wise to have enemy as both fronts, hence the treaty. But one important thing about that treaty (Tamrapatra- which is still in the hands of the present generation of one of the dynasty), it is clearly mentioned that if the shahs will not be true to the promise of those treaties, their later generation will have to suffer a great loss and the kingdom will survive no more under their authority. So, these things are always neglected in books or these types of documentaries . And people might not find any significant importance, but you might remember the Kirats are the only kingdom which the shahs couldnt conquer by war, they had to come in terms after losses after losses. And only after that, the whole modern Nepal is born.

Thats why there is no info for 1200 years of time in Nepals History.
