@@DJRashadHayes I guess 95% of the players under the age of 17 for example, will complain about the coach because they feel that they don't have a clue what is happening some times. The biggest problem of the most coaches is that they don't trust their players in my opinion. Everything has to be done their way and if it doesn't, they will pull you out of the game in some cases. That's what separates a coach like Steve Kerr. He trusts everyone on his team, to make the right play. The thing what I mentioned above happens mostly in Europe. They might be nice persons, but in my opinion, they have an enormous ego (a few of them) that everything has to be done their way and I believe that it's holding back their teams in a lot of cases. I don't say that it makes the players play worse, but I think by trusting your player, it just boosts their confidence and makes them play better. Just my opinion btw.

@@cedricasdfghjkl9151 With the urge to speak up being more prevalent in society, more and more coaches are being revealed for who they are: Terrible narcissistic psychopaths. And they were psychopaths when we were young listening to their outlandish nonsense. I had coaches who had full blown meltdown in practices and we were kids. We tolerated it cuz we thought we had to listen. And millions of players through the years have the same story. Just now, people are speaking up.

What I mean by that is I was putting in effort for the goal of trying hard, not playing basketball. I lost the joy of the game, which led to me playing trash and it suckeddd. Lawrence O I know what you mean but to me having fun is the root of basketball. I’m not talking about not training and just playing around with friends all day, that’s a different kind of having fun. To me and many people out there, getting shots up and working on my skills is having fun. The thing is, my passion and love for the game comes from simply how awesome and fun I think it is. I’m just saying that you should work as hard as you can on your skills, but when you get on court it’s all about just relaxing and enjoying the game, cause only then can you stay focused. Bro like honestly do you think Damian lillard is telling himself “oh I’m a killa, I’m cold asf” in the game? Nah he in the zone, he focused. But all thsi comes from him loving the game, which comes from him having fun with the game. Everybody who says I have passion for basketball should really look at where this passion comes from. If you say money sure whatevr. But think about when you first picked up the basketball as a kid, it was all about fun and that is the basis of your passion, the underlying thing that pushed you to work and be successful at basketball. Fuck lol this might be confusing I dunno how to explain my thoughts very well

I know that feeling of looking over at coach when I don’t want to be pulled out. I have the same mental block Daniel did, trying too hard. I get really down on myself and even though I realize this mistake, I can’t break it. But when I’m playing pickup or just shooting with friends I am ten times more efficient and I actually have fun. Great job teaching this stuff as well. So many coaches are clueless about what it takes to genuinely perform at a high level consitently, and instead resort to cliches, anger or overly theorizing. Nothing worse than a grown man conjuring up a fantasy of how he believes a game will manifest, becoming so attached to it and refusing to adapt to what is. Mindfulness and mastering oneself is the true evolution of sport and you're teaching it to the youth. respect.

Thanks so much for this video. I dont really know how i find this but I feel like is was destined. Me and my friend Johnny trained hard for a maximum of sometimes 7 hours straight every day. working as hard as we can but once our sophomore season started me and him were both benched and never never got over 30 seconds in a game. We trained harder and everytime we got in id always get lost in my head. I miss a shot id look at my coach and Johnny was the same. I was missing shots that i know id could easily make and was too lost of trying to perform and it got to the point i wanted to quit and called my self trash every day. We had b games and even in the b games A team players would start over me. I was hurt because I felt like B games were always a chance to show up and i never could. But in practice sometimes we'd be unstoppable and Johnny was like this all the time. I couldn't give up because that felt like I've officially lost. but it hurt me so bad when Johnny on one day told me this was gonna be his last year. He said he couldn't go another season getting humiliated. Ive witnessed him put his all in his season just to get no acknowledgement. I started to hate my coach because of this. At practice i felt my coach picked us up just to be a moving body bag for the starters so i just said f it and gave up on the rest of the season. Sometimes in practice id see johnny showed traits of someone with high basketball iq and he'd make everything just for my coach to sit him. When i watched this video it reminded me when you get in that point of not trying to hard and just relaxed and calm but you still got the eyes of a tiger. I best describe it as an ultra instinct type mode from dragon ball super. Your just letting your body do all the work and you sit there in your mind and relax yet dangerous. Im definitely gonna show him this video and i hope that next year me and johnny will go crazy. Were on a mission to prove our worth.

Sometimes we hoopers got to realize that we’re not playing the game to get attention from the crowd or because you’re the best on the court. You need to just play for the love of the game not the fame.

I was the same way I know I could hoop and was one of the best on the team. But for me it was a Coach thing when I was at the program it was like I was a robot if I didn’t play the exact way he wanted me to he would take me out so from him doing that it through my confidence off so I would overthink. But once I left that program Virginia prep sports academy I knew what to look for I looked for a coach that would let me be me and wants all of his players the succeed and now I’m at Hargrave military academy and Now I’m ranked in my state and playing my style of basketball that can help my school win games!!! So it wasn’t me It was my coach some people might have bad coaches if you do get away from it that’s what Ja mordant did!!!

This is gonna sound silly, but you sound like Yoda. I've always had his words "there is no try, only do" in the back of my head, and when Obi-Wan tells luke to "Let go" I get chills, because true ability emerges from the flow, which is effortless.

Im a 6’3 13 year old that began dunking consistently around 5 months ago and i have played bench my entire life. I recently began to make 100 and shoot around 200 shots a day to advance my jumpshot and am currently at 47% at the three. I used to be the tall kid that was only there because he is tall, but Now I’m starting to get better. Through my whole life i have been a bench player despite my efforts and i hope by next year i can get the recognition i deserve. I feel like by 15 I could be better than bronny because i am equal in skill to him as I am now, But the mindset of being a bench player is permanently engrained in my head. I Don’t want to shoot or dribble in games because i feel that my coach would put me back on the bench and I just get rebounds and get easy dunks.

I agree with most of this video, however its not just about "one technique" that magically can get you into the zone 😂 its about getting experience playing the game. The more you play the game the more natural everything about it becomes, its that simple

You can bring the sheet to the Masterclass and write it then! That way you can write out all 8 laws (and techniques to use each law) at the same time.

Unpopular opinion: I think in these case, Ben Simmons is one of the best example. Entering the game as a Nets player, he was awful. But coach knows what he can do and keep playing him. Now he's playing like his former self. Most of the time, coaches have to acknowledge the potentials of players and play them more. They have to play more. I always play a few minutes so everytime i play, i was always the try hard guy. So coaches play the biggest role here for me... if not one of the biggest role

Of course it's true that outer circumstances such as coaches will affect at the very least how much you play, and for most players, how you actually play. The DeepGame, however, is ultimately independent from external circumstances such as what your coach thinks of you, although of course on the path to improvement, things like that will certainly have an impact.
