Check out Discbands for basketball officials. Huge help for keeping track of held ball possession. Especially for training programs, youth, amateur, rec leagues, or any level.

Good entry level training. Just a few things for the betterment of education -ball can't touch top of backboard. -kick ball can be called for moving your leg with intent to stop the pass (including thighs, not just below the knee) -as a lead official it's ok to anywhere in the end line between 3pt line and close down. Mirror the play and Get the best open look possible. You should be in close down position when the ball is on trail side.

Clarification on first dash point. Ball can't touch any objects/parts above backboard. It can legally touch top of backboard.

on a charge call you must first have you feet set. its only when a ball handler is dribbling and you are in legal guarding position that you dont have to have your feet set. But on a charge once you are set with both feet on solder ground .you are allow to move side ways and backwards with arms up inside of the spot you are standing in . and up to the ceiling.

also officiate the play your partner cannot see. cause there may be contact that was created by the offense player or the defensive player you did not see. looking at the same play in a dual coverage situation. say from trail to lead and to the hoop. the players front and defensive back is to the lead and vices versa so contact can be created for example a push off by offensive player from below the shoulder to the defensive upper ,lower body the trail official cannot see. but the lead ref can.also in high school and collage hands are part of the ball unless the contact to the hand is extreme there for in foul be a foul. also this whole thing depends alot n what type of rules you are using you dont explain that to the kids that you are talking to and to the viewers that are watching this.

Yes you can just go on indeed and some of the jobs just require a little bit of prior experience however you can jazz up your résumé and say you volunteered for an umpire position or are you volunteered for a head coach at your high school. If you're starting with younger kids and you know the sport very well then you should have no problem.

@@louieb1218 Alright so do you live in vegas because I really would like this job, I'm only 15 and I go to parks, community centers and referee and they say I do a good job

@@tknoxx3558 good job volunteering is great! All you have to do is download the "indeed" app and look for jobs in your area although I think they want you to be at least 16. Make your résumé and apply to the job you searched in your area.
