@Shivu Fireflies is about the singer's insomnia and the wild thoughts he has at night when he's exhausted. Gangsta's Paradise is about the vicious cycle that the gangster lifestyle perpetuates and the wedge it puts between you and loved ones (his mom who has given up on him) And basket case is about Armstrong struggling with his anxiety and panic disorder before he was properly diagnosed, and how he thought he was insane because of them. The more simple explanation here is that DJ cummerbund is just good at what he does.
