Bass fishing the Yakima River with some 5lb toads

Out bass fishing the Yakima river when i catch 2 of the biggest bass i have ever caught on the Yakima river, and both on the same day! this was a great day of fishing. Thumbs up for the giant small mouths!

glenn colin thanks! Yea its a 10 foot aluminim pontoon boat there super stable and awesome for floating down little rivers

Is there any smallmouth in the Yakima above Benton city? Like up near ellensburg?

No not that far up i dont think. Down around the prosser area is when it becomes good.

What are you using I fishing the Yakima quit a bit around the Benton city area up to horn rapides

NME# 1 i use alot of tube baits around 3in in eddies or slow spots, some grubs either white or a shade of green in the current, in deep spots a crank bait works good as well

abu garcia black max, and Quantum PT real and Quantum rod don't remember the model. Both are 6.6 Med action with 20-30lb braid

any spots on the yakima good for bank fishing im new out here live in prosser i know of one spot where ive actually caught fish at.

yea its the rivers still like 3 feet to high at the moment but when it drops back down pretty much any spot u have bank access u can have luck at, try places down OIE, in and near Benton city, West richland, under bridges. For a tip to locate them, try places with current breaks where there is slack water right there on that edge between the two normally holds fish, and a rocky bottoms best. but like i said just about anywhere u have bank access ur ganna catch fish. Hope that helps!
