Hello, I would like to know if you have a like to the video of thou yang at 1:25? If you, could you send it to me, I’ve been searching for the past hour and can’t find it. Not sure if I’m just missing it, I’ve checked out what I believe is his channel, bass2yang, but still failed to find it. I’ve also checked his site, still failed to find it... Anyway, thanks for the trouble.

As a baritone, growing up it always frustrated me that my range simply cannot reach the extremes lows of a bass or the highs of a tenor. The lowest I’m able to reach is through “Would you go with me” by Josh Turner. I turned to transforming my voice by altering my tone to achieve different sounds instead of notes. I have tremendous respect for vocalists capable of these incredible notes.
@kubelo608

I'm a baritone too and basicly baritone is best voice for solo singing, but quite hard to sing in choir. The fun thing is that if you develop your voice enought you will be able to sing both bass and tenor parts. (Btw I sing in choir as a bass)

A D2 isn't bad at all for a baritone. There's no need to worry about being something you're not. I used to be really annoyed by the fact I'm not a tenor and can sing all my favorite songs like one, but after a while I've grown to appreciate my bass range and put it to effective use wherever I find.

I'm literally amazed by bass. Unlike for baritone or tenor, they have a cheat code for high notes which is falsetto but for notes as low as these, you can't reach it unless you're born to be a bass. Yes, I understand that falsetto doesn't have the impact and strength of a natural or chest voice but atleast the note can be hit

The first subharmonic is a one-octave cheat code, the second harmonic is an octave and a fifth cheat code, and the third subharmonic is a two-octave cheat code. The lowest I can go in chest is like an Eb2. Using my first subharmonic - which I'm not great at yet by any means - I can get down to an F1 fairly comfortably. Now I just wish I could be consistent with my whistle register.

I've always been impressed by Ken Turner and sub-harmonic singing talent, and have just in the past couple of years found PTX (Avi), HomeFree (two decent basses), and VoicePlay(Geoff), but Dan Miribal on here is a new one to me, he has such power and volume with his sub-harmonics, it's amazing. Thanks for sharing this. I can get down to about a E1, but unless it is microphoned or a completely quiet room, it is almost inaudible in volume. Tim Foust is the best at subharmonics, in my opinion. He has trained both Avi and Geoff to use subharmonics more effectively. I am a low baritone and have been watching his subharmonic technique very closely. Tim's 5 octave range just blows my mind.

Great compilation and editing. The funny thing here is that the Mongolians have been using this technique for centuries. Another word for it is throat singing. It is even more fun when you can learn to do thin whistle singing and create 3 distinct sounds at once using this technique. The older I have got the more I prefer good old chest singing. Subharmonics isn't the extension ones true vocal range. If low notes near the D1 and under are to be had I prefer fry as long as its done right and not often. In reality as bass singers, we don't need to go lower than a E1 anyway.
@Marcell0Bass
@Marcell0Bass 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! As far as I know regular subharmonics and throat singing are the same physics and are practically the same but subharmonics use only the regular vocal folds while throat singing uses both the false folds and the regular. Thanks for visiting my channel I’ve watched a lot of your videos on various bass singers from back in the day 😊 Which reminds me...you might wanna check out a video I did on Rodney Britt and let me know what you think Link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/asumach-ldeRd6c.html
