Very nice work and really solid understanding of compositional craft! My compliments! I did not find much C Major Though ..(lol)... I think we no longer need to name pieces in certain keys anymore.. Like Shostakovitsch...If he named something in a certain key..you will be sure you will not find that key very much. It is obviously a french flair ikn this work, like Poulenc, which is so nice. If I should pick on something it would be that some parts are repeeated without changing it, or add new contrasting elements to it...but that is just me...congrat!

I know. 😂😂 I hardly spend any time in C major. In fact I think the ending feels kind of out of place because it's so diatonic. And I'm so glad that you mentioned Poulenc. He's like my favorite woodwind sonata writer. I don't know how he does it, but his sonatas just work for woodwinds. I'm definitely going to try and go back and work on making variation in the recapitulation thing that I did. I feel like with the amount of themes that I should have tried a bit harder to incorporate them together. Good news is that I've gotten most of the second movement done. It's just not quite how I want it. And I started the third movement, but it's just a bit more virtuosic and fast so it's taking a minute to write. Thanks so much for listening and commenting.

Very inspiring to find your music here! I also love Poulenc, and you will find some influense in my works as well. Like in my wood-wind sonatas, which I have composed many of ...kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aLJmm9aZlZeofqM.html @@etc.-1912

Its good work, but I see musescores iffy dynamics struck again. I swear i have to use FFF just to hear some instruments on there solo, let alone with accompaniment

I know. I don't understand why it does it, but like musescore's bassoon is super quiet most the time. If you turn it up in the mixer panel and turn the piano down it kind of helps, but it sounds kind of funny. I've had similar problems with the clarinet soundfont too. I wish the woodwinds were a bit better balanced. Thanks for listening.
