Two seconds before they roll! I gave my babies a bath last Thursday and when I let my Arabian mare lose, she was at it. She didn't hesitate 😊

I was going to ask how you stop them from rolling after a bath. When I had my horse, 5 seconds after I washed her, BAM, she was rolling in the dirt

Dust baths are LOVED by horses since they evolved! An equine specialist once told me "brush well after a bath...itchy hair is often why they roll to scratch the back itch...BUT some horses just love rolling these...big bug**rs can't be stopped lol" 😂😂😂😂

Blessed are the recusers. No animal deserves abuse. My hunter loved bath time. He'd play with the hose, letting the water into his mouth.

The dapple grey is beautiful. When I was a little girl and would jump on a Merry Go Round and run around to pick the horse to ride my mother would say, ride the dapple grey one, and I always did. That's been more than 70 years ago. ❤ Thanks for the memories.

@@mountainshadowsequine it definitely was! And also emotional, for me. Her discovering it was fun, was because you worked with her beautifully. Pushing too hard could've added trauma and not safely encouraging her to explore would have deprived her the opportunity to learn and have fun. She trusts you, and that trust grew because of how you treated her

That's awesome that yall are getting them use to that. When I would ride and my horse's would sweat I would rinse them off. I had a horse that loved it and another it was a process each time, but worth it when she would get use to it❤

❤I had 4 horses. I bathed them tied in a aluminum round pole wash rack. It was U shaped on a wide rectangle of concrete with 2 feet of absorbent gravel all the way around it. The water drained away and neither they or myself were standing in MUD. There was a no slip rubber stall mat in the U where they'd stand tied. I had a big water proof box there with their shampoo, conditioner, brightener, combs, brushes, etc. I'd let them stand until dry. Why? Because then they wouldn't roll. To me it seems ridiculous that you have to hang onto a lead rope with a dancing away horse and hose in the other hand. Why not at least make a large gravel area next to your fence and close to the hose and get a decent wash area set up for yourself and horses? It will be more efficient and comfortable for horses and you!

i had a copper appy that got a skin condition from hanging out with the chickens.An old cowboy told me to halve raw tomatoes and apply to affected areas.lt worked a charm and the skin healed and her hair grew beautifully.They are somee fine looking horses🐎💖
