Great video!! Lots of things most people wouldn't think of ahead of time! 👍 from me! No room for a towel rod/ ring. We have to just leave a folded towel.out in our guest bathroom because there's no wall space for any hanging that's within reach of sink. Wall to left is about 4' away, with upper cabinet above. Right is toilet with windows bedhind it. Our hall bathroom is ok because the left has no upper cabinet, and the wall is right there. 😅 sadly an architect and two builders latter No one thought where to put a hand towel! I guess now they do make small countertop style towel rings. Just wanted too keep the countertop as open as possible. I liked your thumbnail with the tp roll hung oddly😅 In an older house, we got a floor standing ATP holder to get it in a good position! Was nice to be able to move it as needed, too!! It was kept to the right but in front too! Very convenient vs. on the right wall. Especially since I was injured, and it's difficult to move my back much at all. Especially right after surgery! Enjoyed the video. NOI💜💖💜

thanks for the nice words about the video. This things (about space for towels) is very important. Every architect should think about this but unfortunately they think about the exterior of the building more than the interior.

Not layering lighting for different times of day and night or mood and not adding dimmers to the lighting fixtures.

With the tile I never thought about starting in the center and working outward; that's a great idea. Those little wedges of tile in the corners always look so bad. Same with starting at the top and working down. Thanks for the great advice!

When we were building I said wanted to use large 60x60 cm tiles in a small bathroom using the same tiles on the floor and the wall and people said I was crazy. It ended up looking awesome!

It might look awesome, but if you get water everywhere, my guess is that your bathroom is not dry in 5 minutes like mine is It’s extremely difficult to get the right gradient on the floor with such large tiles. In time your bathroom will have mould.

Mould does not look awesome

@@AlphaGeekgirl Hmm I doubt it as we have a very well insulated house with underfloor heating. It dries really fast. We also have an enclosed shower cabin so there won't be much chance of getting water everywhere. And, on top of all that, we have treated the grout with a special sealer. Thanks for the info though, good to know! However, I'd like to know, how can it dry faster if the tiles are smaller? Also, smaller tiles means more grout where mould usually resides.

Ty for this informative video Sir, I have 2 questions: is it contemporary and stylish to do an all-white bathroom? Can I add a shower niche and accent wall behind the vanity with the same tile but different color? Ty

Thought I would answer your question since no one else did. I have a 5 year degree in Interior Architecture and 38 years in the field. I believe an all white bathroom can look beautiful and classic if done well, but can look cold and stark without some details to warm it up and soften the hard lines. This can be accomplished with soft furnishings (towels, rug, window covering, etc.) and an accent wall with same tile/different color can definitely contribute behind the vanity. Another thought is to add texture and interest by using warm white tiles of different shades and shapes and textures. I would design shower niche(s) with care, thinking about size, shape, location and functionality. Make it discrete - it may look nice when empty but once used for purpose, filled with bottles, etc, it won’t! Hope this gives you some help. Good renovating!
