Just about every single member of Batman's Rogue's Gallery is in some way his opposite: Killer Croc is a ruthless brute that kills and eats and hunts and kills and eats and..... Batman targets only the people he needs and with precise brutality. Two-face may be the duality of violence but he is still a ruthless man just behind a coin Batman serves only the cause of justice, even if sometimes he doesn't save people. Joker is anarchy made manifest, no plans, no rhyme or reason. Even his origin story isn't concrete, "Sometimes he remembers it one way, sometimes another, if he's going to have a past he prefers it multiple choice". Batman has total conviction in what he does and is the embodiment of keeping shit in line.

I believe I remember hearing the devs said it was canon that Batman saves him, even if he end up hurting other people Batman will always save the person.

Ra's was never immortal. Just really long lived. It's always been stated that Lazarus pits don't work forever. Every time he uses one, its effects on him are a little less stronger. For each dip he takes, he needs to return to one that much sooner. He used to be able to go years without needing one. Years became months. Months became weeks. At some point or another, they'd stop working on him completely. He's just stalling the inevitable far longer than any other human ever has, but he is still as mortal as any other human. Vandal Savage comes a lot closer to true immortality, being ageless and returning from death without the use of a lazarus pit or anything else, other than the power that's inside him granted by the meteor.

@@N21464 'canon' is whatever the writers determine to be canon for that product. However, for most adaptations, people rely on the comics for Batman. Since this game is an adaptation of the comics, and still very much follows the core themes of Batman, I don't think Batman would ever "kill" Ra's by destroying the vial, and definitely not by destroying his life support equipment.

Batman has never believed in the Lazarus pit, Ras have lived hundreds of years, and not letting him use the pit isnt killing him, its just letting him die naturally like all of us must eventually do

So golden age, silver age, pre 52, new 52, rebirth and the current continuity... These are canon because the actions of these universes directly affect each other. Flashpoint is also canon... Dying more than a thousand times only to be brought back by some unholy ressurection isnt the same as someone who is on life support.

Presumably he gets normal life support at GCPD. The Lazarus pits were inhuman, they made Ra's a real mess. If they revived him normally and it didn't threaten the stability of a whole city, they might be fine, but they turned him into more and more of a monster over time.

Here in my country, a guy who tried to enter a house in the middle of the night was beaten to death by a group of neighbors, probably all of them thought that what they did was true justice, when they saw the security cameras it turned out that the guy actually tried to enter several houses because he was asking for help from the neighbors and was trying to escape from a group of thieves who were chasing him, that meant that the first option for the neighbors as a response in case of robbery was impulsive murder without a second thought, and they ended up killing an innocent man because they thought they were doing your "true justice". Batman is right, when the institutions are incompetent, corrupt, etc. and your response to crime is becoming a killer, then you get rid of their job, they are no longer needed, and you can no longer force them to do it, you make things easier for them because now you do it yourself and on top of that you do it the wrong way, then you're not helping as you think, you are just allowing those institutions to keep being or become even more incompetent and corrupt, and then the neighbors become the police, but the neighbors are killers.
