Riddler was SO creepy and disturbing in The Batman. Almost unsettling in a realistic way. I don't think anybody could ever overtake Ledger in the Dark Knight though. That performance is transcendent. One of the best acting performances of all-time no doubt.

Paul Dano & Heath Ledger would go into my all-time favourites.. Their performances were so strong and really posed a genuine threat to batman unlike the other villians.. Paul Dano was so good in that film I almost wished he was in the Dark Knight trilogy just to get the Nolan batman against that Riddler

I think The Batman Trilogy will give us the best and most faithful adaptions of all these villains, my predictions: *Riddler:* is terrifying and insane but he retains all the core aspects of the charcater. *Penguin:* Collin Farell's transformation is great and like you said he's prime to be the defintive Penguin. *Catwoman:* Michelle Phieffer is great but she never really felt like Catwoman, I'll probably come out thinking Zoe was the most faithful Selina Kyle in terms of embracing all her qualities and backstory. *Falcone:* I'm suprised by the reactions to Turttoro since I thought he'll have a brief and unmemorable role but I was suprised how they embrace Falcone backstory and position of power from the comics, he'll definitely be more fleshed than the version from Batman Begins.

My top 5. 1. Joker (Heath Ledger) I don’t think anyone could ever surpass him. 2. Two Face (Aaron Eckhart) I loved his performance and I loved the fallen white knight arc and his death had such a lasting impact on everyone in the story. 3. Bane (Tom Hardy) Tom Hardy really can’t miss and he certainly didn’t miss with this amazing performance, they ruined him at the very end but up until then he was very compelling. 4. Riddler (Paul Dano) Terrifying and captivating portrayal, absolutely loved this character but hate how he was sidelined for parts of the story. 5. Ras Al Ghul (Liam Neeson) I loved this portrayal so much and while he didn’t have as much screen time as I would have liked he still stole the show in every scene.

Wow, alright so this is the first Batman list we're doing! Fun times, and definitely the "Austin Dark Knight trilogy bias" takes hold. It's cool though, and this list was alot of fun! Some great picks here, and Batman especially has had a great cinematic rogues gallery. My list (VERY different from yours): Having not seen The Batman yet, this will definitely change. F: - Bane (Batman & Robin): I like the film but even I can admit that he makes no presence and isn't actually Bane, rather just a dressed-up heavy. E: - Sal Maroni (The Dark Knight) & John Daggett (The Dark Knight Rises): Forgot they existed, don't make any impression. - Taila Al Ghul (The Dark Knight Rises): Genuinely hilarious and a real finale-killer. - Joker (DCEU): LOL D: - Lau (The Dark Knight) - Two-Face (Batman Forever) B: - Poison Ivy (Batman & Robin): Thurman knows just as well as Schwartznegger what exactly she's doing and it is mostly glorious. - Falcone (Batman Begins): Actually really menacing for his short screentime. - Ra's Al Ghul (Dark Knight trilogy): Brilliant when he's not the villain and actually helping Bruce, but once he becomes a threat/twist villain, it becomes uninteresting. Love when he came back in The Dark Knight Rises though. - Two-Face (The Dark Knight): Again, he's great for the first 2 acts and does some powerful things in the third act, but something about that transition from good to evil just fell flat to me. Eckhart does fantastic work here. A: - Mr. Freeze (Batman & Robin) - Max Schreck (Batman Returns) - Scarecrow (Batman Begins) - Catwoman (The Dark Knight Rises) - Riddler (Batman Forever) - Harley Quinn (DCEU): The best character, quite simply. S: - Bane (The Dark Knight Rises) - Joker (1989) - Penguin (Batman Returns) - Joker (Phantasm): Genuinely horrifying at times. - Catwoman (Batman Returns) All-Time: - Joker (The Dark Knight) - The Phantasm

We should get remasters of Lego Batmans 1 and 2. I loved them so much and I can’t play them on any of my newer consoles. They are absolute classics and should be preserved forever.

My favorite is Scarecrow, the best is HL’s Joker.

I've always said that Batman Begins is the best "Batman" movie in the Nolan trilogy and The Dark Knight is the best "film" and that is 100% due to Heath Ledger's Joker. Even Rises had Bane overshadow Batman for most of the movie. That is why I'm pumped for this new movie because from what I'm hearing it's the most "Batman" movie ever made. We'll see after I watch it tonight.

I think Aaron eckhart as harvey dent was the best character in the dark knight. Sure not the best villain, so I'd say him and joker are balanced through that. But you don't need to be a villain for long to have an impact and man, his impact was the best part of the movie

Tom hardy bane criminally underrated

Tom Wilkinson’s performance as Carmine Falcone in Batman Begins is sooo slept on. Genuinely feels like a Sicilian mafia boss straight out of Goodfellas. For me he’s at least A tier

The Phantasm only makes one more appearance in the JLU episode epilogue that goes into Terry McGuiness’s origins into the twist behind him becoming Batman.

My favorite of the Batman movie villains are the Joker, Penguin and Riddler from the 60's movie. They are just iconic, one of a kind and fun to watch.

Honestly, this list is almost on point with mine. I would only make two changes. I'd put Michelles Catwoman in S tier and Bring tdkr bane down to B. But that's just an unpopular opinion for me, I thought Bane was just alright. He was fine, but he lacked a lot of the main characteristics that defined bane such as the addiction to the Venom and his actual backstory which is a shame because he is my favorite of the Batman rogues. I mean he had the intelligence going so I would give him that, but it's in question now that it turned out he was just working for Talia who he could have just been taking orders from. Bane unnecessarily getting sidelined in the final battle just for the sake of a Twist villain really angered me too because if he was the sole antagonist, I would have brought him up to an A. I just yearn for a proper adaptation of Bane one day

I don't know if Colin Farrell will be the definitive Penguin, given Robin Lord Taylor's performance in Gotham, but we'll see. Too early to say, but he just doesn't feel quite right to me yet.

I would have put Liam as R’As on the A tier, not the S tier. He isn’t comic book accurate but he is good as a realistic version of the character.

I thought the riddler got close to joker levels for me . But the joker something about him everything he was on screen in was a home run .

Maybe Cooper Hoffman will play Penguin some day

Mark Hamil and Heath Ledger should be equal. When he plays the Trickster it is basically his version of a live action Joker. So he is just as high as Heath Ledger.

My favorite is Tow face and riddler

Honestly, i think Cillian Murphy and Paul Dano are all time level villains. Not as outlandish as Ledger's Joker, but no less meticulously acted either, and i think both of them were definitive (for Cillian, just in Begins, but still). Leto's Joker and Talia don't belong anywhere but F tier, just god awful on both counts. I don't blame Leto though, Ayers and Snyder clearly spend most of their time high on cocaine to think their respective movies were anything close to resembling decent film making. Bane is a cool physical villain but his (Talia's?) plan makes no sense whatsoever and he is nothing like the comics, other than, grr, he know how fight good. Granted 95% of Dark Knight Rises is contrived. I'd give Bane a solid B tier for being quotable. Pfeiffer probably deserves all time status too. Zoe will likely end up there as well or close.

It might be my bias towards Cillian Murphy, but Scarecrow would be high A or maybe even S tier for me.

While Ledger and Nicholson are playing the same character on paper the characterization is completely different. Nicholson isn’t trying to do Ledger and vice versa.

Um catwoman has been an antihero since like the late 90s in comics. From brubakers run in 2002 up to the present, catwoman has fallen way more on the hero side than the villain side, though she does have shades of grey. There is a reason why she is considered to be an official member of the Batman family.

Lex luthor man (Callan Mulvey) from BVS is KGBEAST. Another batman villain. Polka dot man also is batman villain too. Ratcatcher also is batman villain too.

The biggest thing I would change for sure would have to be putting Anne Hathaway's Catwoman in the A tier above Michelle Pfeiffer, this one is personal!

Arnold’s Freeze is one of the worse. Jared Leto’s Joker is terrible. Uma Thurman is so bad as Poison Ivy. I have mixed feelings about Tommy Lee Jones but overall I hate him, especially since Arron Eckhart plays 5h3 character better.

Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman is 100% S tier. I might have to unsubscribe now LOL.
