Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow was absent as the Israeli flag was raised at city hall. Sun Editor-in-Chief Adrienne Batra talks with political columnists Brian Lilley and Lorrie Goldstein about how too many people see the raising of the Israeli flag in Canada as divisive.

Exactly. There’s no need to support a group from halfway across the world when you can easily fly there and have all your human rights removed all at once. Especially if you’re openly gay. That’ll get your life removed in most parts of that region. Also, are you confused on how the US is now negotiating with terrorists? To anyone who wants to promote a Palestinian State. Do you realize it will be Shariah law? I lived in Saudi Arabia for 7 years at one time. Ladies: Seeing as it's overwhelmingly women supporting Palestine, do you realize you can kiss democratic Rights and Freedoms goodbye under such an arrangement? I've witnessed women being flogged, women not being allowed out of the house without a close male relative, driving being "iffy" plus other indignities. Hand and feet being cut off. Never seen a New Zealand flag , never seen New Guinea, never seen Welsh , English , Liechtenstein, Andorra , Fiji .....I have only seen flags that pander to certain groups who vote in Toronto......which is what it really is about. They should only fly Canadian flags.

It’s simple. Only flags that should ever be flown on federal or provincial lands is the Canadian flag and the flag of the province unless it’s DOD Property then the appropriate armed forces flag of course should be shown as well. I have no problem with the US flag being flown, especially since I’m in a province with close ties to the USA. Any other country allied with Canada I don’t have a problem either, in its proper display. The Palestine flag, absolutely NO, it’s representing a terrorist organization, Hamas. I don’t want to see that symbol of hate in my country. To me it’s the same as a swastika, a symbol of hate and evil.
