I head from Siem Reap to Battambang, Cambodia, a quiet town not frequented by many travelers. One of my favorite getaways so far!

I am captivated by the beautiful colonial architecture and the active social scene around the riverbanks. I get a chance to go to the Phare Ponleu Selpak circus to check out the talent that this town has to offer. I even get harassed by a demon child with scissors. Plus, Angelina Jolie is in town directing a film adaptation of the novel, "First They Killed My Father" by Loung Ung. A usually sleepy town was energized!

I love your video. I was born in Battambang, but I left the country when I was 9. I never have a chance to see Ankhor Wat at all. I wish I had a chance some time.

JP Goes Global sorry mate we are heading there in a month and was trying to briefly stop in a friend's village (Mongkol Borey) just to get a selfie. Might have to get a private car and stop for longer. Love the videos. Very helpful on what to go and see and what to avoid. We are now avoiding Sihanoukville after watching your video and spending a couple of days in Kampot and Kep instead.

Ah I see. Yeah, I'm sure you'd need to arrange for private transportation, but maybe a bus will stop there if it's on the way. Locals kind of get off wherever, so you could try. Thanks for watching! I'm glad you find them helpful. But note on Sihanoukville: it's a necessary evil to get to beautiful islands like Koh Rong Sanloem. But if you're not interested in that, then Kampot and Kep are good, quiet alternatives. Safe travels!
