Battle Gear 4 Tuned - Taito Type X (running on PC!) 2

So, another Taito Type X game has been released into the wild and is now playable on PC, and it also just happens to be its first racing game. I don't know the names of the tracks (they're in Japanese) otherwise I'd add them to the video description. This is literally my first ever few goes at playing this game.
This is played using Romhack's custom ttx_monitor loader - no links here I'm afraid, you'll need to use a bit of good old fashioned Googling for that.

I dont get how you have working controls is it keyboard or a controller/racing wheel all I get is steer right accel works and brake but only right turn works for me ? :(

Gary Arnott Yes, mate, agree x100 about Chase HQ 2, I've been wanting to play it at home for ages now - hopefully the progress with this game means it might actually happen some time soon. I think it's just Windows XP based rather than Linux, so hopefully it shouldn't be any harder to get working than all the other TTX2 games. jonathan hooper Jonny mate, I haven't tried getting this working with my wheel at all yet, I'm using a PS3 Dualshock 3 pad and emulating an Xbox 360 pad using Motionjoy's DS3 tool. In the first versions of this you needed to make sure your accelerator and brake were on different axis, so I was using the right shoulder button to accelerate and the right stick to brake (the left shoulder button is on the same axis as the right one). Then assign axis 3 & 4 to turning left and right respectively. You don't need to do all this in the most recent version of the ttx_config (the one with bg4_7.zip), just assign what you want to each button. Simples! After you've assigned the buttons in the config, make sure to delete the existing 'config.bin' and the game will prompt you as to what to do to calibrate the pedals when you start it up.

For all battle gear 4 pc player who wish to use keyboard to control the game, here is how : 1. Ensure that the controls apart from 'handle' has been assigned to keyboard controls in TTX_Config2.0 app. 2. Download and Install VJoy. VJoy is an app which makes your keyboard act as a game pad 3. Open VJoy, then assign the left and right key to left and right on keyboard, and leave the rest to none. Then, check Auto Center. 4. Open TTX_Config2.0 app, then assign 'handle' to the right key on keyboard. 5. There you go, now the steering is working.

+MrThunderwing what is the spec of your pc? does it have to be a high end pc to play?

I recorded this on an i5 but you don't need a super powerful PC to run it. It works just as well in an older dual core machine I've got.

I cannot make this work. Vjoy, X360, normal controller. The TTX loader just dies when I try to configure it. Help?

Try plugging a USB thumb drive into your PC and giving it another try. I think it might need to be assigned as the E: drive. The game would always hang on start up on my 2nd PC unless I had an external drive plugged in - don't know why...

Jono do you have an Xbox controller for your PC? Have a read through here mate: www.neofighters.info/forum/showthread.php?14889-WIP-BattleGear-4-Tuned-%28TTX%29-Progressos If you do have an Xbox controller someone made me a pre-configured config file there to download with all controls pre-mapped and ready to go :) Good to see a new game emulated - it's been too long since we had any progress with old arcade game emulation don't you think guys? Wish someone would finally get Chase HQ 2 emulated for us PC owners with a working linux loader or something!
