CCE ran a higher resolution and consistent 30fps with significantly more track detail and draw distance. There's a chance Daytona USA could've done 60fps given enough time. The launch port was too quick and dirty. Look at the bump from VF1 launch to VF2 high-res 60fps.

Wow, that's my go-to arcade when I finish uni for the day! (uni's just down the road from the arcade, lol). That aside, i can't even get past the first stage, lol. Whenever I play, the reactions of people when the machine moves always brings a smile to my face.

Does it work fine in Heart Attack mode? I wonder how well does it handle the "Special Requests 3" on the firsts levels...

I can tell you had fun, since the thumbnail has specific focus on the OutRun deluxe cab and the OutRun 2 cab. Guess I should start playing both more often now

The big issue with the arcade version was pop in textures. I think sega racing classic has it too but not as bad. ps3 and xbox 360 ports had no pop in. I prefer rpcs3 myself for daytona usa. outrun 2, sega rally 3 teknoparrot.

I'm trying to figure something out about the "widescreen" option in OR2 and OR2 SP (and C2C). When you select Widescreen from the options, it just seems to squish the car narrower, but if you leave it to normal 4:3 format, the car seems wider, maybe like it should be? I'm playing on a widescreen tv. What is widescreen option actually doing, and should we be using it?

No wonder the place was empty! That pricing system should be illegal, it's stealing, do that to 10,000 people and you get the picture! At least you got to hear Daytona USA as it was intended. The only way to make up for it at home is to have the sound up LOUD so the neighbours hear lol. 😜

I'm not a fan of ticket redemption games. A lot of those are little more than just spinning a wheel and getting whatever ticket amount it lands on - no skill involved at all. Since nobody makes CRTs or even 4:3 LCDs any more, replacing the monitors with wrong aspect ratio OLED screens seems to be a common occurrence. But at least it's still playable!

good job, i was able to get quite a few tracks working. although some didn't have enough time, and other ones crashed. couldn't get any championships to work though. i did replace the classic with lakeside, that was pretty cool too. later || || | | || | n egative 1

Heart of Gaming in Croydon has an 8 player Daytona setup, I think its the only one in Europe

Saturn car physics/control improvements are visible. Car looks weightier and less twitchy.

​@MrThunderwing It is the "Hornet" but I wanted it to look more like the blocky original.

My only complaint is that they did not have the original Hornet. It should have been there at least as an unlockable car.

what I find weird about this game is how the game is sponsored by AMD yet both the Chihiro and Lindbergh use Intel CPU and NVIDIA GPU!

Pretty cool review of the place. I live by the brunswick, never stepped into Funland, as I could tell from the outside that the arcade machines weren’t going to be my bag, it’s a shame I was right. Daytona is basically its highest rated machine. I wish it was a proper gamers arcade, something that would do the past proud. Great video, mate! I enjoyed it!
