This sounds more energetic than the ORAS version of Hoenn's trainer battle theme, better usage of the instruments chosen here gives it similar synergy just like the original I'd say. Without a doubt going toward to my liked list.

Ah yes... Gen 3... What a hell of a time to be introduced to the series... I'm genuinely serious. Gen 3 introduced a lot of staple features into the series which has stuck ever since. (Weather, Abilities, Natures, Double Battles etc) My skin is hard as ruby, my blood flows like sapphire and my heart would always be made of solid emerald.

The greatest injustice done to gen 3's soundtrack is that half of the time people think they're hearing trumpet, it's a French horn. Ok but actually it's that ORAS used them both far less frequently and prominently

Trainer Ruby sent out Swampert and Salamence. Trainer Sapphire sent out Metagross and Gardevoir. Salamence’s intimidate lowered Gardevoir’s attack. Clear Body prevented Metagross’ attack from being lowered. Gardevoir traced Swampert’s Torrent.

This is a super cool take on the Hoenn Trainer Battle theme! It sounds less intense than the original and just all around more playful! I personally don’t think it works as well as the original, but those drums kicking in before and during the buildup portion definitely sweetens the pot! 8/10
