Decisive moment of the battle of Gdańsk from my Empire Total War Polish campaign.It was year 1732 and war of the Polish succession has started.The British joined the coalition against August III Sas and sent the superior army to capture the city of Gdańsk and join the swedish later on attacking from the north...After a long and bloody battle british army has been defeated and that was the beginning of Commonwealth glory...

INSTALLATION: Open Empire Realism folder and extract everything except for user.script into steamapps/common/Empire Total War/data folder

@@IceniTotalWar I haven't tried this particular mod and I don't know if it is stable enough to play a proper campaign and enjoy it. I have the famous DM with extra adds and imperial destroyer mod too, in my opinion those 2 are those 2 are best mods. Why not try the ETW 2 mod?

@@wael4070 I've watched some people try to do campaigns in ETW2 but they ran into a lot of bugs, still a very new mod i think. I've always wanted to try Imperial Splendour and Destroyer and TROM The Rights of Man but DM is the best known i think. I only have the AUM Additional units mod on.

Are you using additional graphics mods or does the mod also change graphics? this looks like Napoleon TW graphics with darthmod sound and smoke

Yes I'm using napoleon effects mod but the smoke and muzzle flashes are from Imperial Destroyer mod.I linked the file in the description.

1:58 I don 't know why Polish soldiers play Hochenfriedberger March on drums and fifes but it sounds good.

Hah yeah it's a little bit strange I know but I haven't found any mod with polish fife & drums so here are the few most famous ones playing randomly :)

Loved naval battles with this mod, just didn't like generals being made to be grenadiers

Yeah that is a radical change but it's really needed because of stupidity of AI.Better this than sniping the enemy general every time with ease I think.I can totally understand why ER creator did this - grenadiers are a very useful unit and general is realively safe that way but I hope there was another way xD

What is the Difference from Imperial Destroyer Mod? I mean I love the battle, the new unites and the new provinces from Deatroyer, but it gives you very little room for Diplomacy and when I tried the VDM submod which should have fixed that, it crushes when I wanted to play a campaign battle

Well the difference is huge.Empire Realism as you can see in the video makes big changes in campaign and battles but only when it comes to gameplay. You have unit limits according to historical point of view for all nations , the diplomacy is less restricted than in Imperial Destroyer but you can't trade regions.The battles are much more realistic here but there are no new units or any major visual changes to the campaign map or models.The look of the units you see in the video are from different mod that I linked now in the description. So if you're looking for major overhaul like ID you won't find it in ER.If you want challenging and very realistic and historically accurate gameplay an immersion but in vanilla style then Empre Realism is one of the best mods for ETW in my opinion :)

@@ThunderForce1299 Thank you a lot, but I thing the ID is better for me, I dont like the units in the vanila, they are a bit too cartoonistic for me and how spred the soldiers in the Regiments are it looks quite unrealistic, the ID does improve those details and that's why I like it a lot and I think the new units they added do make the game more attractive for me, but thank you and I respect your opinion.

@@aggelosbakis5990 Yeah I understand your point of view very well because I used to play a lot of ID in the past.But the crashes , restricted diplomacy and many other limitations finally changed my mind xD , but the units and graphics are definitely great in ID.

@@aggelosbakis5990 there is also a graphical mod that you can use to get imperial destroyer's uniforms that works with empire realism. Really made a difference

Hi, I can't seem to add things like Lord's smoke onto the mod, it just doesn't work even when I add it to the script file after putting it in the data folder it's still vanilla smoke effects. What am I doing wrong?

Hmm strange because if something is wrong with the mod or userscript the game should crash to the desktop when launching...So if this is not the case try to verify game files and try again with the mod.

Okay so, let me get this straight: 1. Paste Lord_BSM and Lord_Sounds into data folder 2. go to appdata and edit user.empire_script with both mods Correct? Is there a specific way I need to write it or have the mods placed.

@@MundusMeus974 No I don't and I recommend to stay away from mod manager because in my experience it was always problematic to use xD Yes those steps are correct and in userscript you should paste something like this : mod Lord_BSM.pack; and mod Lord_Sounds.pack;

@Creative Assembly, we don't have money to build a new engine despite players asking for that. Meanwhile @Creative Assembly proceeds to waste $100 million on a hame called Hyenas no one wanted, not even mentioning the money spent on the worst selling TW game even known as Pharaoh.

Did you invent this battle? The British didn't even participate in the war, and didn't the war start in 1733? But the video is cool.

Well yes as the description says it's a fictional scenario based on my campaign. In reality polish and british army never fought each other as far as I know in this time period or..like ever xD I'm glad you liked the battle :)

@@ThunderForce1299 ok, because if it were a real battle I would have utterly confused XD. Polish soldiers have always been pretty deadly, for example, at the battle of Hódow, were only 400 Polish men defeated the, although militarily very inferior forces, utterly numerically greater Krimean army of 40.000 men, even if they retreated only after 6 hours that's a lot. 100 vs 1, I only know a few other battles from other countries that surpass this number.

@@holabuenas7200 Yes army of 1st Polish Republic or 1st Commonwealth was always specialised and very elite but mostly composed of cavalry which worked very well in XVI century..Most spectacular victories were against few times larger forces like in battle of Klushino or Kirholm and many others.XVII century on the other hand wasn't the best for Poland to say the least unfortunately , but in this game you can make your own history so that's why total wars are so great.

Yes I'd say it's very similar to NTW 3.Both mods stand for realism and more historical gameplay where unit morale and cohesion are the most important factors.The only difference is that NTW 3 adds a lot of units while Empire Realism overhauls only the gameplay aspects of campaigns and battles and adds minor visual changes like better smoke,different death animations etc.The effects you see in my video are in fact from imperial destroyer mod.

@@kimjongil4497 Not exactly - I'm using only effects like smoke and muzzle flashes from imperial destroyer and that's all. You just have to copy the specific file from imperial destroyer. In this case Lord_BSM.pack to the main folder and activate it in userscript.The rest is pure empire realism.And about naval battles- they are very different to darthmod and by this I mean that they're much shorter cause of the new morale settings.Ships tend to surrender much faster when hit hard but also return to combat after retreat. So it's similar to how ground battles work.I've never liked naval battles in darthmod to be honest.They are way too long for me :P

@@ThunderForce1299 i love darthmod naval battles. But its all personal preference, so I get it. I didn't even know this mod was out there . And not many views on this video. Suprised considering how well NTW3 is doing now. But thanks for the upload and replies. If you upload more I'll watch, because it looks awesome. 👍

@@kimjongil4497 Well Empire Realism doesn't get enough praise it deserves unfortunately as it's in my opinion one of the best mods out there for empire.The best gameplay wise that's for sure , but you have to like the realism and longer battles.Recently I rediscovered vanilla :P , and it plays better than I remembered cause I haven't played it since I tried darthmod in 2011 :D But you're right it all depends on personal preference.Thanks for your comments and that you enjoyed my uploads - I appreciate that very much :) There will be more empire stuff that's for sure :D

What are the rifles for? very few men die despite that much shot. not realistic.

Well that's a thing..these are not rifles but muskets and that make a huge difference. In fact this mod is quite realistic - not 100% of course because of the engine limitations and hardcoded scripts but it's much more realistic than vanilla game. In real life muskets were very inaccurate weapons especially on the maximum distance which was about 100 meters.Very few man could die from the single unit salvo - a few at that range if you're unlucky.There were other factors decreasing overall accuracy like stress and exhaustion which are both implemented in the unit hit chance stats. So I would say this mod is as realistic as it can be xD

@@deamon8271 Well that's simple - everyone could learn how to shoot from musket in a very short time.Bows on the other hand requires a lot of practice to be even slightly as effective in the hands of very experienced unit compared to unexperienced and totally fresh unit of musketeers.Besides bullets are faster and could penetrate any armor unlike arrows...and in mass volleys muskets were much faster and deadly especially in close range.They were also very effective against the cavalry.Summing up - the closer you got the deadlier muskets were and with bayonet it was also a capable melee weapon so you didn't need a swordman or pikeman anymore to defend against the successfull cavalry charges.

@@ThunderForce1299 This mod is "realistic" in the sense that it makes battles longer, the fire mechanics are not historically accurate at all. The same for NTW3. You can make your own research in historical military manuals of the Frideric the Great´s army, 60 % of shots would find their target within the range of 70 yards when fired by regular musketeers. Also, get yourself a musket for one afternoon, you will learn how to shoot a cabbage 30 meters away from you, I guarantee you. I also consulted this topic with my friends doing reenactment at Austerlitz, they confirmed my previous thoughts. Seriously, find a single reliable resource proving that these Empire Realism mechanics are historically acurate.

@@filipstepanek2384 Well you should consult the Empire Realism creator - JaM with your findings because I only stated what he said about the battle mechanics in his mod.Maybe it's exactly how you say it is but you had to be completely sure that this accuracy within that range was really a thing during the prolonged battles..because fatigue and stress were a huge factor in the fight.Reenactment isn't really the 100% evidence for that...because it's not the real battle.
