Well, it didn't go exactly like this, during his service in the roman army, Vercingetorix have learned many strategies and warfare tecniques he used afterwards against them in the rebellion, he burned the land he and his army left behind to prevent romans to forage themselves, which quickly caused a shortage of rations for the roman legions, who arrived nearly starving at the city walls even if not yet so weakened, but this was enough for the second part of the plan to take effect. Believe it or not, the women of the city appeared on the walls, showing breasts to the romans soldier and provoking them, they did not enjoy the company of a woman from a long time because of the campaign, for some of them the hard discipline broke, they even tried to reach the women with the wooden siege stairs. Then the women and other citizens threw some chickens to the hungry soldiers, and other between them left their ranks trying to catch them to eat them alive, at this point the formation of the cohorts was pretty much broken, and Vercingetorix, , gave the sign to the Arverni cavalry (hidden in the surrounding woods and hills) to charge the Romans. The Aedui, gallic roman allies also turned against them, joining the Arverni in the attack from the rear, two or three cohorts were wiped out, to avoid the utter defeat of the legion, Caesar ordered a tactical retreat, so the gauls conquered the field and succesfully held their ground

RTW battle speeches are still rocking to this day. Shame they couldn't replicate it.

The Gauls were known to use their incredibly immense amount of flatulence to render opposing forces weakened if not totally incapacitated for many minutes at a time on the battlefield.
