Thanks for this video. I use the Milwaukee fan positioned in the floor of my dump truck, which has zero room for any hanging options . It doesn't overturn, and the plastic is of great quality. If I were in long haul tractor trailer work I'd also be looking at that Dewalt. For dump truck dirt hauls that trash the fan with dust this Milwaukee an be cleaned easily with a swiffer duster. It has survived the extreme bumpity-bumps of offroad dump trucking , as well as being stored in a hot car (minus the battery, of course).Thanks for showing the Dewalt. Never seen it until this video

I have the Ridgid, Ryobi and Milwaukee fans. I can tell you the Ridgid will run 7 hours on a 4.0 ah battery on high and about 3 hours 20 minutes on a 2.0 ah battery. You’re definitely right about the amount of air flow coming from the Milwaukee. It feels stronger to me. I have the Ryobi and use it the most because it sits next to my bed and I run it at night because of the noise. Unfortunately I think a bearing is going out because when you turn it on it makes a loud noise that can be stopped by banging on top of the fan a couple of times. Going to have to do a warranty exchange on that one. As far as run time, I can get 6 hours on high with a 4.0 ah battery and 17 hours on low. The Milwaukee seems to be the loudest of all the fans. I’ve been able to get about 4 hours of runtime with 5.0 ah battery. One other quirk I learned about the Milwaukee is it actually has more power with the battery rather than using the power brick.

FYI, The Ryobi has grooves in the base that allow you to hang it from your garage door rails. Super helpful when working in the garage during the summer. I take the Ryobi to the dog park during the summer to keep cool and keep the bugs at bay. Super light weight. Love it!

I love the milwaukee above all. 1 because the adapter is compact, it can plug in a small extension cord and comes with the fan. With the other fans you have to carry a bulky extension cord with them. 2 it blows more than enough air even though the others last longer with a 5 amp battery. I can always put another battery in no prob

Awesome boss. I have the rigid and the Dewalt. Love them both, the Dewalt is a little nicer quality and a better footprint but I actually prefer that the rigid can go down to a VERY low speed, maybe even less than half of Dewalt slowest setting. Sometimes I like to have it just lightly circulating some air which is almost silent... by the way I’m on my way home with the 40v mower, about to try it out. Thanks again TB.

I own the Dewalt,Milwaukee and the Ryobi. I run all 3 of them all the time. Love the Dewalt, but then I'm usually biased toward Dewalt. The Milwaukee puts out great air but hate that AC plug in! The Ryobi for the money is a great fan. I beat the hell out of it (because it's a Ryobi) but it never hiccups a bit. My opinion on these fans if you are looking to buy one is to stick with the brand you have already invested so much in. Just my 2 cents worth. Great video Boss man!
@toolboss84105 жыл бұрын
Yup .just about nailed it ..like I said in video don't let specs fool you ..the Milwaukee at 284 cfm and Ridgid at 475 must of been tested differently cause Milwaukee throws more air ..but alot louder , doesn't rotate as much , no mounting options , ac adapter and biggest thing 20% more expensive

I went ahead and stuck with Dewalt when looking for a fan and thankfully Dewalt has put out this great model. It's more expensive which is a kick in the nads but it could have been worse.. My wife oddly enough loves the fan haha.

It has about 500 cfm, it's water resistant, is nicer and has better materials than others. Maybe you got a defective one? Oh, well, you can sell it now that is still new and buy a different brand.
@weldonpinder72953 жыл бұрын
@@joaquinsuarez6090 it doesn't matter to me that it's dewalt. The dewalt has the best features but has terrible airflow. It's just I've been trying to get as much feedback as I can about the dewalt before I ordered it and everyone said it puts out a ton of air a like what I was looking for. Idk if it's the extension cord I'm using but I'm assuming using one shouldn't affect its power if anything it should improve it. I hope you understand where I'm coming from that in my country there's no home depot, no lowes. Pretty much nothing. My only way is to order and like I said by the time a tool gets here on the island the price for everything is nearly double so I doubt anyone will buy a fan for 230$. If you own the milwaukee and dewalt and can truthfully say the dewalt puts out more air on high than the milwaukee on high than I'll believe you

Have you actually tried the others to be making that statement? Because the Ridgid looks hands down by far best value for the money and very close in quality and capabilities. I would probably buy the Dewalt if they were $5 to $10 apart but not for almost twice the dough. I don't understand Dewalt's pricing.

It all depends what battery system you are invested in. Mine is Ridgid and I have no apologies about it. These are great power tools and I love them. What kept me away from DeWalt is how they switched to a battery that didn't work with their older tools. That to me is Bullshit and planned obsolescence.
@hunterharrell74912 жыл бұрын
I have both the dewalt and the milwaukee, the milwaukee feels like it blows harder, but both work really well, Dewalt lies about being 20v so they could also be lying about their cfm output

Get two ryobis for the price of a Dewalt? can run a Ryobi fan with a battery adapter, that will use DeWalt or Milwaukee batteries... I just tripled my DeWalt battery arsenal from deals you posted! I am gonna get a yellow fan and see what it's about, sounds like awesome run times. If any manufacturer reading this we need a fan with an LED Light and 2 USB slots, maybe even a detachable light? That can be recharged when attached back to the fan and separately, So many people depend on these things during hurricane outages and other places, including camping. (And make the light brightness adjustable so it's just not an obnoxious white light, red, blue, green option would be great)

Update: Bought the Dewalt on Amazon $79, it arrived today, have a 3ah on it to test run time, first I will say I really like the airflow even on low, it feels better than the ryobi fans, which I have so many of...rotation of the fan head is great, especially it rotates down as well, unlike the limey, the speed selector is great, and it is as solid as TB describes..., 6 of them limeys might be returned this weekend! (Plus I can't believe how quiet this thing is compared to the Ryobi fans)

Tested dewalt with a 3ah battery results on lowest speed, which is ample airflow but not the same speed as low on the Ryobi so , that would be just under the medium setting on the DeWalt, so the results on low with a 3ah 20v yellow top battery is just under 48 hours!!!!! Ran the test twice, same results, I am sold on these DeWalt fans, best airflow, has a wide range adjustable dial, and for comparison, I ran the ryobi on low with a 9ah battery for 37 hours which I thought was awesome, till this DeWalt came along... quiet as heck, it was just $79 at Lowes and Amazon, will stock up on these on black Friday and christmas if it drops that low again... If you have a Milwaukee to DeWalt battery adapter be forewarned depending on the one you have it may barely hit the battery slot preventing it from positioning into place, nothing a Dremel tool can't solve, either taking a little off the fan side or the adapter, I have contacted the adapter people to let them know the hump on both sides needs to be tweaked a tad.

So using a flexvolt battery wont mess up the dewalt fan ??
@jeffarnold19835 жыл бұрын
The flexvolt battery is only 20v unless it's in a 60v tool. I'm sure everyone already knows 20v max and 60v max is actually 18v and 54v.
@toolboss84105 жыл бұрын
Why would a Flexvolt Battery mess up the fan ? Its a 20v battery ...18v like Jeff said 👍
@EPSKRCMPK5 жыл бұрын
TOOL BOSS it’s uncommon knowledge but using 60v batteries in 20v tools can fry them
@jeffarnold19835 жыл бұрын
The flexvolt battery isn't a 60v battery unless it's plugged into a 60v tool. There is a mechanical switch that has to be pushed and two terminals that have to be jumped to switch the cells from parallel to series.

It's cool to see how these fans stack up against each other but really it's kind of insignificant. They're all good They all work They all blow air They all cool you off. You're going to buy the fan depending on your tool investment ie your battery investment. Who the hell is going to look at the fans and then decide they want to invest hundreds or thousands of dollars in the batteries and tools based on that fan choice?

First off I'd rather have the ac adapter, if I'm in my house or out on my porch, I can just plug it into my wall outlet, and/or also an extension cord, with the other fans, YOU HAVE TO HAVE AN EXTENSION CORD to run it without battery, u can't plug them into a wall outlet, sometimes u don't always have an extension cord on hand, but most of the time there's an outlet 😉

I have both the Ryobi and the DeWalt fans. My DeWalt however is giving me issues after a years worth of use. When I first bought it I could immediately turn the knob straight to high and worked just fine, now I have to slowly turn it up to high because if I go straight to the high speed the start up capacitor inside isn't buffering quick enough.

You can also get an adapter to run the old 18vNiCad dewalt tools, like the nailers and circle saw added bonus most have a USB adapter installed as well! @@toolboss8410 Thank you for the response. Listen, I am a handyman and can not think of any realistic situation in which I would need a fan like that. Especially when I'm doing something like painting because Im constantly moving up ladders, etc. Perhaps you could use them while under a sink but it's still not ideal because that's more things to carry and most of the time, houses have A/C. I did consider no A/C but even then it will only move around hot air and get in the way. I certainly would not take it into a Attic because it's too hot and I don't want to breath in dirt and insolation. And it would be pointless outside. I think the most ideal place for those fans are on a desk. I'm open to other ideas, giving me one other realistic use for them? Tell me how a professional can actually use a fan like that while at work because I can't think of anything.

Well think about a plumber who comes to replace some old pipe in laundry room for 4-5 hours .. think about the painter who has 2 bedrooms to paint .. think of the electrician who has to rewire some bedrooms in remodel .. those are just a few .. ur thinking to big about cause of the size .. they are portable, can go anywhere and you be suprised how much air they can throw , but even on a low setting they get the air circulating 🤟😉
