I am moving to the HollyLand from EarTec in part because of the volume of the headset (I guess we run a loud FOH) and the expandability with HollyLand. I like my camera trainees to hear the director even when observing so they have a perspecitve of how the camera person responded.

We have a first gen Eartec system and 6 years after it sill works good enough. The question that bugs my head is how the Hollyland is when the level of noise is quite loud, concert level :) The Eartec are fine, but sill would not use it for more than 35m-50m (100-150Ft)

I think the hollyland mic is more omnidirectional than Eartec. Which is both good and bad. Good for ears dropping as camera assistant. Bad for extra noise coming into the headsets.

One note about the distance test: since you turned a few times, the actual distance was never 1000 feet. At the furthest point in the parking lot, the distance was probably close to 400 feet, which is still impressive considering the obstacles. 1000 feet could cover the entirety of a football stadium if each unit is placed at a corner, and the line of sight would likely improve connection

We have the Eartecs. I'd love something a little louder but we love the dual ear options and in my understanding, the C1s aren't expandable to more than 6 units. We need at least 8 for our video team which I can have with the Eartecs.

We have the Eartecs and have eight headsets with the base station. We love ours. Not sure we can go back to having less headsets. Thanks for this great review.

Another major consideration you may want to take into account is the tech inside the headsets. Eartec is using DECT which, at least for my team when we demo'd at NAB, was much lower latency than using GHz bands. Now I didn't try this system specifically, but Eartec had an unreleased version that uses 1.9 or 2.4 we demoed alongside Ultralite, and the latency was easily double or more on the GHz models. Curious what the difference was like for you between the 2 systems.. more delay from Hollyland? Part of the reason we are looking to go this route is because of the latency Discord has going through the network, so having something with similar latency would be non-ideal and that level of latency was in that GHz wideband model of the Eartec's. To be clear, Discord has still been a usable level of latency and so would that Eartec system using GHz wideband, but it's just noticeable enough to be a nuisance and be uncomfortable for the control room guys to all be on the call together and hear the delay. Not so with Ultralite. Anyways, just my 2 cents! Thanks for making the vid & comparison.

I tried many setups from different brands but all failed, and I like to ask you, can you still hear the other crew and each other in loud envierment? like weddings? halls? where there is loud music? dance party? cause my crew in the dance floor at weddings, cant hear each other cause the mic pick the music and make everyone hears bad sound? have you experience that with the hollyland?

Can you use the eartec and hollyland simultaneously for different teams without interference?

Do you know if it is possible to connect 2 master headphones? We want to buy two combos with three headphones that we will use together a few times.

Normally when we use the normal walkie system near the speakers you can't hear nothing the other person is saying. How does these hollyland work in noisy environments?

for a full system with hub, hollyland is twice more expensive than eartec.

The mics sound pretty bad for singing. Do you know a headset that would be shaped like this for stage singers?

Good review, well done…. But why cut to a close up side view of your face…. Very distracting…. you have lost eye contact with the viewer…. So many others are doing the same thing…. Makes me wonder if you are trying to impress people that this is a two camera shoot…. If you’re shooting 4K, just punch in the same front view shot to get a closer view. Take it from me, a long time professional videographer and producer, the CU side view is not necessary. Regards…. Ron
