I've got several nitecores. The ut27 is good and on the spot it's OK to run with. Last week I took it out in around freezing temps and disappointingly the battery only lasted around 2hrs rather than 6hrs. Obvs colder temps reduce times but that's alot of reduction in time.

Good review! I still use the older Nitecore Nu 25 still works great and super light!

i would buy the nitecore because of not only dual lights but also dual type of batteries
@SeeChadRun2 жыл бұрын
Both can use the lithium ion battery and AAA batteries.

I have choosed the Fenix HM65R with 18650 Li-ion battery and USB-C charging. I am looking forward to a Wurkkos HD20 with the 21700 battery. Missing red light on both.

I've heard good things about that Fenix unit. That larger capacity 21700 battery seems like it would be really nice!

I just got the ut27. I love the different brightnesses and got 2 batteries. I'm not sure about the waterproofness because it doesn't seem to be a completely sealed unit. I got a petzl tikkinna and 2 core batteries. I used it in the rain and now it doesn't work with the core battery but ok with AAA batteries. I might have accidentally put the battery in backwards but not sure if that caused the problem.

Sounds like the battery might be bad...

what time do you need to charge nu27 from empty to full?
@SeeChadRun2 жыл бұрын
I don't recall exactly, but it seems that it doesn't take more than a couple hours. Part of that depends on how fast of a charger you use.

Have you compared either of these to the Petzl Swift RL?
@SeeChadRun2 жыл бұрын
I have not. I'd love to get my hands on some Petzl units to compare though.

The Silva is USB c ??
@SeeChadRun2 жыл бұрын
It is now but the device that I have was not USB-C. I received one of the first production models which did not have usb-c unlike the current version.

The night core has much better battery life.

Great callout! The UT27 does last longer on a single charge, but some may prefer how the Silva dual lights work more. I find that I need to recharge my Silva unit after 3 days of use (about 4.5hrs of real world use on the mid 400 lumen setting).
