Every summer, when the blistering heat takes over the lush forests of India, male king cobras set out on a journey in search of a potential mate. Using their bi-forked tongues, they pick up the scent of pheromones and follow the females. But, it's not easy for the king to win over his queen.
To win his right to mate, male king cobras will engage in combat. The cobras will try to size each other up and pin down the head until the weaker one surrenders. The stronger one will then get to mate with the female and pass on his genes to the next generation of kings.
