The SMG 08/18 can be equipped on an assault class loadout as a primary Weapon.
SMG 08/18 Factory Variant: Unlock by getting:
- Perform 15 kills with the MP 18 Trench
- Perform 10 kills with the Anti-Tank Grenade
SMG 08/18 Optical Variant: Unlock by getting:
- Perform 50 kills with the Automatico M1918 Trench
- Destroy 5 tanks with the Anti-Tank Mine

@@l750z_6 Probably talking for a balancing perspective, lots of people complain from the Hellrieger being unbalanced. But to be honest, an Automatico o shotgun (except the Auto one) could face it without much problem in a 1v1 situation.

Man, they really changed this gun during patches. It's like looking at totally different weapon in this footage comparing to it's nowadays counterpart. No wonder why the optical version of this gun is basically useless, when the premise was built around these original stats. The recoil is just too violent with this thing.

This gun favors a playstyle much like its fire rate: slow and steady. After using this gun for a solid amount of time, I've fallen in love with it. It adds a whole new playstyle and challenge aspect to the assault class, which is refreshing to me, as my assault class is the only class not maxed. It's amazing for flanking, favors good accuracy with headshots and tap firing, and is just very satisfying to use. This is by no means the best assault weapon, but (with bias from a mainly support player) it is the most fun weapon. I highly recommend unlocking the factory variant and trying it out for yourselves

The history behind the weapon was so nice, especially that 80 round multi column clips. Had it been fielded, Germans would have extra firepower during trench assaults, but on the Western Front instead.

@@allseeingeye3182 to be fair, the gun probably was shit. If a viable weapon is created, in a setting where it could/would be viable, it would most likely see some sort of production level. The fact that this didn’t means that it didn’t work great. Most likely to mud and dirt clogging the magazine. However, the knowledge they gain from this weapon could’ve been invaluable, but there’s no way to tell.

After playing further with both variation extensively I can say I was wrong, this gun is not bad, but need a lot of buffs , muzzle velocity is horrible making medium to long range awful, damage drop-off paired with bullet velocity and rate of fire makes this gun feel broken in the bad way.. Dice needs to buff the muzzle velocity and 5 hit kill range.. maybe from 11 to 20 . It needs it ASAP to compete with the others smg and LMG.

i don't know what i should think about this weapon. one part of me loving it, the other hate this gun. TTK in close quarters is catastrophic. But it's a bless for those medium range engagements :)

I'm glad you don't have your FOV ridiculously increased... I see a lot of youtubers who increase there FOV so much it seems redundant. Do these guys have monitors that make it look normal when they increase there FOV... is it just when they convert it to a video format it comes out distorted?

Yeah, I'm running on a 32 inch... when I turn up my FOV it really starts to give it this fisheye lens effect... I tried to marginally turn it up... but what kept happening is when I'm not ADS, it's kinda hard for me to spot things as well...though admittedly, when I'm ADS objects appear larger... finding a middle ground is difficult.

Hellriegel 1915 vs SMG 08/18 , which is better. For me, the Hellriegel 1915 is still the best because it's more accurate when i spray the bullet than the others.

The MP18 makes this gun pointless in all aspects besides ammo capacity. It doesn't matter if you have more bullets if you'll be dead from this gun's horrible damage.

The larger magazine makes it better than the MP18 for flanking groups of infantry rather than taking people on head on. They suit niches, they aren't pointless. Its just a lot of people prefer weapons to be more straight forward run and gun machines for aggressive play.

Been using this weapon for about a week. I think honestly it's a good weapon but it fires too slowly. It's better to change between Hellreigel depending on your situation.

they should never have changed this weapon, I mean how many other fast firing but inaccurate bullet hose guns do we have to choose from. This gun would make it so you could play assault and actually hit something beyond 20 meters, but now it's just yet another inaccurate high rpm SMG. Totally lost its uniqueness

It was used in ww1 German storm troopers were given the MG 08/15 but it was to heavy and big for trench use so they sawed of the massive barrel to make the smg 08/15

that's just a shortened MG 08/15, the the SMG 08/18. The cut down MG 08 still was chambered in 7.92 Mauser, not 9mm Parabellum

Indignatio 1945 the answer ist simple. You cant kill players out of vehicles with mines. Because if you shoot at them the kill counts for the weapon with that you destroyed the mine.

Hena pena Russia did in fact capture many things, and they were by no means "pussies". Russia had quite a bit to deal with. Russia, like most countries, were not technologically capable of fighting Germany alone. Unfortunately, none of its allies sent troops to the eastern front, they figured they could fight the Germans, Austro-Hungarians, Ottomans, and Bolshevik's at once. Russia's allies thought wrong.

Alan Rickman maybe up close it has a long time to kill. But the fact that it already a 3 hit kill makes it pretty high damage. Though I do get what you're saying about everything else

Cant seem to get any anti tank grenade kills. These assignments ruin the game for me. I come back for patches and then have to keep using guns I got bored of to EVENTUALLY unlock the content I came back for.

Unfortunately this is another weapon that will go almost unused. You mentioned it's slow TTK which will be the death of this weapon the SMG 08/18 is a slightly more accurate automatic version of what the M1903 experimental used to be before it got burfed (buffed/nerfed) and we all know how popular that weapon was. Any assault weapon that can be out shot by all but the worst sidearm has no right to be on the battlefield

Stuhlinger even with a damage buff it's slow rate of fire will keep it's popularity at the bottom of the pile unfortunately most players want either high damage per shot or high rof the SMG 08 has neither. For a few days I noticed a marked drop in the use of the hellriegel but regrettably it didn't last because it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the extra 200rpm more than makes up for the tiny increase in accuracy

AXyom Rotmg If yoy play conquest on Amiens, plant mines where the enemy tank spawns and you can get easy kills.

I used this after i unlocked it went on a 35-6 killing spree It's alot of fun , keep enemies medium to long range n you'll murder them ,It's more accurate then the Hellreigel but not as good up close due to It's low rate of fire . The reason i was interested was a enemy player went on a 44-10 kill so i was curious what he or she was using this was on PS4 .

I'm not saying it's a bad gun at all. I just personally don't see that many people using it. that may be because it's still new. I find myself gravitating towards it myself. It has a great recoil pattern. My mistake is I'm used to playing support and try and treat it like an LMG but it has the spread pattern of an SMG. So that messes me up.

Crazy cuz a year down the road is about as ridiculous as the Hellriegel
