A simple way to work on improving aim is to record yourself. Record moments, gunfights, etc. so later you can go back and see if you are over-aiming or under-aiming your target. Do it enough and you can get an idea if you need to increase or decrease your sensitivity and then repeat the process until you find what feels most comfortable or consistent. You certainly can change out hardware, mousepads, whatever to try and improve or adjust aim but I wouldn't do that until you have a comfortable base setup to start with which involves doing the first thing I mentioned until you find a comfortable sensitivity with your existing setup but yes after doing what you can with sensitivity adjustments sometimes the one thing you need to change to take your accuracy a little further is to swap mouse pads or mice feet or mouse. Situational awareness often times comes from audio queues. With the cluster F of audio effects flooding the audio in BF2042 it's generally not useful in combat because you'll often times not be able to hear or pick out the footstep or player movement audio with so many other audio effects going on. So it's hard to soundwhore in this game like you can in other games especially with lower player counts. CS, DoD, Team Fortress were games I developed a lot of my situational awareness and using sound to identify player positions. I'd normally suggest paying more attention to the map or mini-map but it's still bugged in this game and often time shows phantom or fake spots so the most you can do is the normal player "counting cards" trick which is identifying where your teammates are and where enemies are likely to be based on friendly locations around the map. Anyways basic situational awareness in any game requires playtime. Once you know the different audio effects, the various spawn locations for each objective on each map, etc. you tend to know where players will be or will be coming from giving you the advantage.

No they aren't like the shotguns in BF4 at least not like the 870 or other pump action shotguns were in BF4 when you had a full-choke barrel attachment and were firing it ADS. The base damage dropoff in BF2042 for the 880 shotgun is just worse at range you'd never get the same experience as you did in BF4. I wish there was a real benefit to full stop firing while ADS but it's negligible or not noticeable vs firing while strafing in BF2042.

Probably thanks to DICE's visual recoil addition. They've toned it down a bunch, but it's still off on certain guns and optic combos. It's always been terrible on the vault guns, fwiw.

FOV is 74 in-game which is technically ~106 horizontal FOV.

Nope. Is DSR better now? Last time I looked into it there were issues using DSR and wasn't useful for my setup.

They re-made or created them from scratch in Portal. Some of them are close to the originals while others were changed some. None play like they did originally because it's a different game engine.

@@dntrell Gadgets, items, ammo, etc. can sometimes be seen by enemies on the mini-map and map when placed/thrown. That is a problem if I'm stationary on an objective trying to capture it as it lets enemies know where I am. On the run though it doesn't matter and can sometimes distract players, that and if my character doesn't need ammo the teammates and often times squadmates following me or around me pick it up so there is almost always more reason to just throw it out all the time when moving instead of just giving myself ammo. That and I do not like selfish mechanics like that, it's similar to Falck's syrette pistol. Passive or subtle teamwork like you get with the ammo box and med box is what you had in the better or more accepted recent Battlefield games so I prefer that or continuing that behavior.
