The third person camera in vehicles is uhhh very weird in this game. Well it's weird in most Battlefield games but in this one it is heavily affected by things you wouldn't expect it to be affected by. Pretty sure the explosion bubble/ripple effect that comes off of...well explosions in the game went far enough passed the third person camera that it restricted the camera's height or distance. Like when you go under a bridge and the third person camera gets forced in closer to the vehicle.
