Mainly just wanted to offload random pistol footage ( included Deagle, L9CZ, MP28, NVK-P125, G57 ) I had saved when I was swapping around the sidearms after updates to see if any were worthwhile using over the G57 or Deagle. With that strafe movement speed buff they did a while back to all Classes/Specialists it just feels like the effort to make certain sidearms or pistols effective isn't really worth it especially when that increased movement speed creates more inconsistencies throughout the game. Shots you expect to hit don't and shots you expect to miss hit you. Although I guess that might be a different case for console or controller players and the reduced recoil, etc. smoothing everything out.
I feel like I should like the MP28 based on its stats but every time I use it in game it feels inconsistent. I don't know if it's because it has weird or different mounting spots for the sights vs the other pistols or something else is wrong with the RDS sights. Speaking of why is there so much optic/sight inconsistency between all the pistols in the game? I know it's bad for all weapons ( RDS on one weapon being different from another ) but the pistols are a mess sight-wise. For example would the other pistols "feel" better to shoot with the NVK-P125 RDS? I get wanting to have different looking/feeling weapons in a video game but if your goal is to have people continue to come back and play your game don't you want it to be more consistent to engage players into developing muscle memory and playing for longer instead of being so varied that players don't bother and just bail after a few rounds.
It would probably be beneficial to the game if they just straight up removed the G57 since it would make all the other pistols/sidearms better when they don't have to be compared against it. Or at the very least remove the drum magazines from the game like I suggested so long ago.
I'll try to upload more sooner than usual since next season for Battlefield 2042 is coming up soon.

I looked at your description and I totally agree on the sight variation on all the guns being a complete disaster. I’d like to use many of the vault weapons specifically, but a lot of them are stuck with the Kobra RDS. Same with the base game guns as well, like the G428 and Deagle. The 1911 and MP443 have it the worst by far and aren’t given sights at all, which I don’t understand. If all sights were made much more universal like in almost every Battlefield game, excluding Battlefield 5, which had the same problem, there would probably be more variety in the gun meta. I don’t understand balancing choices sometimes…

Yeah BFV is an interesting direction as well. Most of the differences are in the faction tied reticle/crosshairs. At the very least a 3x sight was pretty consistent for most guns.

TBF to the vault pistols, none of them have rails or a slide cut to mount a RDS to them (not that I think they *need* a RDS, given that their sights are perfectly usable for their intended ranges, but I get why some may want it). At least the 1911 and MP443 don't feel as bad to use as the M93R. The vault weapon rework really messed up their attachment allocation, and I suspect it had an impact on the optic allocation for newer 2042 guns. The SVD losing it's iconic PSO-1 4x hurts a lot, as is the lack of BCG / LWG grips for a lot of the vault guns.

Have you ever considered playing Falck with the ammo crate instead of Angel with a medic crate? Personally I prefer Falck with the ammo crate bc I usually find myself needing to heal more constantly than my need for ammo, could just be a skill issue but I digress. I used to play as Angel with the health crate until I realized I can heal more and faster with Falcks ability instead of the crate which takes maybe around 10 or so seconds to refill. Plus her shots refill overtime as well, and I’m just never in the need for ammo every ten seconds, which is why I think the ammo crate is a perfect alternative. The constant healing with Falck’s gun allows for lots of rushing and healing on the move instead of having to worry about the crate refill after throwing it down.

Falck has bad habits associated with the syrette pistol. Not something I want to get used to as it's not the norm for Battlefield games.

Is there a reason why you don’t burst fire the NVK? I love that thing but it feels like it constantly gets held back by its fire rate when it’s not burst fire.

The burst fire is easy to mess up with it. If you click slightly too fast, then you end up causing a 'jam' (the gun just doesn't fire) which results in a larger delay. Plus, the burst fire is only 2 rounds so it's not really worth using. If you have the trigger finger for the MP28 or L9CZ, then you have the trigger finger for the NVK-P125 in semi-auto. It's not like the Burst fire is any faster than the semi-auto fire cap.

I think the issue with the MP28 is that weird visual recoil it has when firing, alongside it's base optic being quite obstructive compared to other pistol sights.

How about a revolver clip? I was surprised at how I seemed to have a remaining muscle memory from playing the Rex in earlier BF games. Not sure if that's an illusion, but using it did feel familiar. (Have to add that I am crap on all the handguns, though! ;) )

Your thoughts on the drum mag for the g57 applies to every weapon in the game imo. Extended magazines are too beneficial with no real downsides and it hurts the game.

Yes but it's a glaring difference between it and the other sidearms. Besides the "infantry only" players that live in modes like Breakthrough would whine and cry to no end if DICE took away their drum/extended mags. They can't play without them.

@@Ravic oh for sure the g57 benefits very strongly by the drum mag. People just get so much sustained fire in this game. Miss when reloading actually meant something.

Old and better devs left long before those ones. There is always a few that leave after or between games it's a pretty normal cycle. Some of those you are specifically referring to made The Finals, which is meh, the other devs are working on some co-op looking sci-fi game and it will probably be a while. What affects things most of the time at DICE are the stubborn leads/managers that don't move on or are brought in right before starting development of a new game. They always push some personal agenda that ends up ruining various aspects of the game ( suppression, supernova sun/flashlights, attrition system ). A few of them are still around since BF1 so I expect some poor choices in game design. Otherwise we are sort of in an unknown situation since they pulled back or cancelled that "Battlefield Universe" thing they created a new studio in Washington for and Vince is from Respawn so I don't know what direction he plans on taking Battlefield. Add to that the various studios and EA laying developers and it's hard to guess at the moment what we might get. BF2042 was easy to predict and see coming but the follow up at this point is either going to be a further in the future game or something completely different ( reset, different era ).

@@Ravic The ruining aspects that you mentioned.The supernova sun in Altai range behind D flag was frustrating.Suppression in BF3/4 and that super annoying blue tint in BF3.That was a game breaker in BF3 for me.Hopefully they don't go apex and star wars, futuristici thing on Battlefield.From all the previous titles i'm still sticking to BF4.

One more thing about sidearms I'm disappointed with. The M44. It looks like a magnum. Hits like a magnum. Sounds like a wet fart adn the trigger delay. I just can't.

I usually see people using the high power rounds on the deagle, but you're using the close combat rounds. Pretty based, if you ask me.

NVK: exceptionally weak damage but has burst fire mode, decent round capacity and high headshot multiplier to compensate G57: fuck it full damage pistol, also burst fire, minimal recoil and an even bigger round capacity with no real downsides. dice pls i just want to be able to use the L9CZ and not have a disadvantage against a thrown pebble

5:03 - Thanks teammate for the not intentional enviroamental friendly fire damage ¬¬ - The game is inconsistent overral with rds(eseseses). In one gun looks great, in other looks terrible. And i'm not talking about how the weapon looks but while ads(ing). Looks like in one gun the rds is mounted on the back of the rails, and on the other, all the way to the front. And there is no way to change that. And in some rare cases you don't have the same optic for different guns. The biggest offender being the G428. - But keeping on the sidearms looks like the mess is even bigger even tho we have less options. They all feel inconsistent and the sights always feels off. Some have exclusive sights, some doesn't even have a sight. - But i'm sure everything will be fixed now with visual recoil being added. "Surely" the weapons feeling bad, plastic, without a soul and recoil is not the fact that they have a very easy recoil to control and a bad sound in general since BF4 in the majority of the cases. BF1 had a great gun audio. - This is for you, mus1CK and Fedge: my discord account got hacked and it should have been deleted by now. I apologize for any inconvenience that i may have cause. Admiring your sanity to keep playing that garbage. If only could turn time back and erase that bullshit of a game from my memory.. At least glorious BF3/4 still lot of people and servers.
