Number keys, however since my movement keys are ESDF everything else is shifted one key to the right so it would be 3 and 2 number keys for switching weapons.

What do you mean by input delay, just mouse movement? what actions have you noticed that have a delay here are some examples of flat out delays no matter what you do recoil control, crouching, moving, swaping weapons, ect.

You'd have to be more specific. What you describe sounds like performance issues with your PC/console. Supposedly changes were made to the game that weren't previously done to Battlefield games where polling inputs were affected by frames or fps. I was told there were advantages and disadvantages to this change but they never fully explained what either of those included. My guess would be this is related to that and your system being overloaded in some way causing fps to affect input. Also the more recent updates increased the CPU utilization so you might be getting a performance hit from that but if things aren't configured or setup correctly within your system. If you are talking about weapon swapping and movement that has always been affected by client/server performance especially when in large player engagements, it's a lot of players to render, their data, the bandwidth and processing from the server for all those players and trying to maintain a certain update rate and sync when so many are in close proximity, other things will be affected or sacrificed to maintain it. That happened in previous Battlefield games as well.

nasty gpu frame times can heavily effect input delay you should pull up msi afterburner just to have a quick look if your frame times are low your good so then try enabling nvidia reflex instead in the settings this lowers your latency on inputs

Both this game and your mouse rely heavily on cpu, especially if your mouse going over 1000hz polling rate. So depends on how much hz your mouse polling rate and how powerful your cpu is, it's gonna need more cpu power to process the input. At the same time the game itself is cpu hungry and if your cpu can't handle the load it's gonna give you some horrible input lag to the mouse.

It's a rail gun. has no bullet drop.

What gets me is the inconsistent armor on certain vehicles. The base squad car is super open, but the Wildcat (I think... the up-armored squad vehicle) is armored out the ass. And considering the Recoiless launcher can waste all its ammo on one vehicle and only get it down to 3/4 health at best, it's pretty annoying. Hell, the Recoiless launcher can kill everyone in the base squad vehicle without destroying it.

They already have damage reduction to windows in Battlefield 2042. That is one of the reasons why I avoid using the majority of the weapons in the game as it takes too many bullets to drop someone out of a vehicle and with how fast and maneuverable vehicles are in this game along with their player hitboxes desyncing so badly because of that speed and maneuverability it becomes pointless to try when in previous Battlefield games it was common for anyone to be able to shoot out someone from a vehicle. Also a reminder they classified the railgun in BF2042 as an "armor piercing" projectile. As far as I can tell armor piercing rounds in this game are the reason the damage reduction was given to windows on vehicles as they are the only bullets to maintain their damage through windows. However no one ever equips them on LMGs or ARs because they have such low damage vs infantry or lower ammo pools or they just take too long to swap to in a fight where you'd actually need them. It's one of those things in the game where it would be nice if DICE just removed them and stopped trying to force certain mechanics.

Yeah that is another reason why it's a bummer the GVT got nerfed. Kill people enough times with a weapon they'll switch to it to try it out thinking it's ez or overpowered. Since the GVT required a player to be fast and accurate with landing headshots it's quite difficult to do well with it so it becomes a trap for those players switching to the weapon.

bf3 was way easier but bf4 made it impossible, the metal and instrument cluster would save the pilot, like go to a map where scout helis are used in bf3 and use the second gun seat to shoot the pilot out vs bf4 where you wont get a single hitmarker

Yes and no. If you spend enough time testing and looking closely you'll see the projectile is landing behind the player model. Meaning the hitboxes in this game lag behind pretty badly compared to previous Battlefield games.

Considering all the bugs were never fixed in BF3 or BF4 I doubt they will all be fixed for this game either. Anyways once a Battlefield game is released it regularly goes on sale or is available through cheaper means so never pay full price for a Battlefield game after it has launched. You could try it through Game Pass and Origin subscription I believe.

Up to you, but keep in mind after a Battlefield game is released it often goes on sale so you should never have to pay full price after launch.

BF4 aircraft with windows didn't have damage resistance. In the beta/demo they were bugged but at launch and throughout its lifespan they were just normal windows you could shoot through without any damage loss. It was pretty easy to shoot out pilots in that game ( made an entire video series for it: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/frGmeZZml8yzY6M.html ) especially with the less mobile aircraft. No aimbot required :)
