Season 7 preview for Battlefield 2042, a few new weapons like the AK 5C and SCZ-3 as well as a new gadget the Predator SRAW ( spoilers, it's really bad ). The new map called Haven is another 64 player only map like the previous two maps we have received. Later in the season ( no idea when ) they are going to add the DFR Strife LMG, and the XFAD-4 Draugr which is a bomber. I'm not sure if we are getting the other "new" map Stadium on Season 7's release but either way it is the stadium part of the original Hourglass that they cut off when doing the Hourglass rework. Sorry about my voice, I'm barely awake for these events that are held so early in the morning. That and with so few real players it takes too long to collect recordings of just real player moments so I spent most of my time testing a few things but mainly the SRAW to see what this version of a wire-guided missile launcher was going to be.
The Predator SRAW...is useless against anything in the air that isn't AI. The zoom level it has when aiming down the sight makes it so your FOV is so cut down you can't use it in the basic ways you could in BC2 or BF4. That is because missile or rocket itself is too slow and the response time of the rocket vs your mouse/joystick movement is too delayed. You also can't hipfire it. Here is the kicker though, one could spend a lot of time getting comfortable with it and the timing of the rocket, it's speed, turn limits, and maybe pull off a few blind shots like I show in AT4 and SRAW videos however unlike the TOW missile in BF2042 this SRAW has a giant F#$KING 3D icon tied to the missile that everyone on both teams can see. It's bigger than Liz's TV-missile icon/indicator and that thing can only be seen while in vehicles. Meaning it would be really difficult for any aircraft to NOT notice it and easily move to avoid it with how slow it is and turns. When I first read it was being added I had a similar feeling to what mus1ck said to me "it's like putting a bandaid on a ship full of holes", turns out it's even worse than that. It makes the TOW missile look good which is just sad since BF2042's TOW missile is terrible, hell it makes the gutted SRAW in BF4 ( thank you again for that whining vehicle mains in CTE ) look decent. It's a kick to the nuts for DICE to decide now to put in it but to also put it in while being in such a useless state is even bigger blow. But I also don't know why they are still continuing to push out content for the game especially in such a half-assed way.
The new map visually looks nice and it's roots or what it was styled after are pretty obvious. I agree with mus1ck's assessment that the middle street should have been expanded a bit further, basically make the center lane a bit wider throughout the map. Rush mode on the map has issues with defense spawns being way too far away so very attacker friendly or maybe it was designed for 128 player Rush. Vehicles on it for Conquest aren't balanced but that is the same for every BF2042 map, that comes from not approaching balancing correctly for the game. They should have scaled damage against vehicles based on real player counts because trying to use the same damage values when you have 64 and 128 player versions guarantees one of them is going to feel incredibly unbalance. Or just remove 64 or 128 player. That and having health regen for vehicles plus a self-heal button is still a mistake, those come from two separate systems and two separate Battlefield games, they never should be combined, just pick one. Add to that the almost constant vehicle spam and there is no downtime, no breathing room to let you strike other objectives ( referring to 128 versions of BF2042 maps ). Of course if DICE wanted to balance tanks/armor on the ground they would have limited the seats to a maximum of two for all ground armor.
Regarding the Stadium map I find it hilarious because I recall countless people cried and whined in Twitch chat that there was no infantry areas in any of the original launch maps for BF2042. So it's like DICE are shoving the obvious infantry part of a map that those people crying couldn't be bothered to run to or spawn at that this was here the entire time. Seriously all the maps had locations like these and people whined it was too open or not enough cover, the same can be said about all the reworks it's just that objectives are now so close together there is barely any downtime. Like I get criticizing some aspects but when people aren't honest about what they are really complaining about or want ( COD TDM ) it just ruins games or core game modes.
Oh and if it wasn't obvious what I meant by DICE pushing out content in such a half-assed way I was referring to the weapons being added which are basically more vault weapons/gadgets but instead specifically all ones that were from BF4. Strife LMG, reminds me of the AWS or LSAT.

Since I ran out of room in the video description. The AK 5C and SCZ-3 seem fine, I would look to others regarding the visual recoil being added and how it affects ARs and SMGs since I rarely touch either weapon types. For visual recoil on the DMRs or at least the G428 which I've been using a lot it felt weird and a bit jarring. It kind of feels like they are going out of their way to suck the fun parts out the game for infantry players with each new season and the changes it brings. I wonder if they are trying to purposely do it to make the next Battlefield game look and feel better by comparison.

idk it would seem like a strange thing to do and DICE have no history of doing this to previous games, at least no genuine evidence to suggest such a thing. I think they're just trying to make the game feel more punchier and _"realistic"_ which honestly, is fine but the gun play with AR's and such right now, is in my opinion amazing, so if this makes the guns a bit more challenging to use and makes the skill ceiling higher as a result I cant complain, I just feel sorry for you PC players as you get like 20% more visual recoil anyway.. What were the stats for the AK5C? - Like, base damage, recoil, range, accuracy and such? Did it feel like a reskin of an existing gun or did it feel like it was something new? Did they add any new scopes or attachments? and did you get to play around with other guns using this new Visual Recoil model?

BF4’s AK5C felt and sounded almost like a pistol caliber weapon. If I remember correctly, it almost sounded and felt the same as the UMP-9 but with a slightly higher rate of fire. It sounds better now.

@@AAK540 None of the guns in BF2042 feel like the guns from BF4 or existing guns. The SCZ-3 has that visually different looking red dot sight but outside of that I don't think there were any new or unique sights. I mention the visual recoil for the G428 in the comment.

its more or so to stop the self repair or the repair systems that vehicle players like to cheese, you know how you get a vehicle down to 25hp than they pop the repair system and get 75hp back like instantly before you reload so i like boris turret and crawfords turret since it cancels any repair out except repair tool

It's because DICE has to balance it in the event of an entire team using Crawford. The irony of since every specialist has to be special, none of them can be too good: so, they're almost all bad in their own ways. (Referring to the low tier specialists like Crawford).

I would be silly to think Battlefield weapons wouldn’t be reused in later titles but it really feels like Battlefield has become VERY lazy. I wouldn’t want what we had in Battlefield where there’s 20 of each type of weapon and 15 are irrelevant but with all the new types of weapons being developed they couldn’t have done something different instead? Maybe I’m alone on this but gahlee this is balls

Yes and the houses are assets from Bad Company 2 (I think this type of recycling was the only way they could fit 2 maps in one season)

DICE has presets / clusters of assets put together that they can drag & drop using developer tools / software. Recycled assets save a ton of time and money.

Idk but this game has started to give of bfbc2 vibes by the looks of it. Like this is what i've imagine bfbc3 multiplayer gameplay to look like. It actually has some sort of vibe that i like by now. Maybe i'll try it out.

i really like the detail of the sraw when fire how the rocket has like a delay before the fuel kicks in kinda makes it a little realistic than instantly flying out fuel burning

Thx for showing the pass however I noticed that the drone fighter/drone bomber wasnt actually on it even though all 100 tiers where shown. Do you know?/Are you allowed to say how we can get it?

No idea, the fact sheet they gave didn't give specifics on whether it would be in for Seasons 7's launch or not. It does for other items like the Stadium map and the LMG but for some reason they were vague on the subject of the bomber. My assumption would be if it's not there at the beginning it will be added when the LMG or the map is added.

Draugr (bomber), Strife LMG and the Stadium map are all being added in a later update in S7. It was noted on the little infographic (all 3 had an asterisk next to them, and reading the bottom told you why) for the S7 content at the end of the trailer.

@@Slenderneer Sorry in the fact sheet DICE gave us it is only the LMG and the bomber that it mentions are coming at a later date. It's the Stadium map they make no mention of it's release.

Definitely agree what you said in the description about dishonest complaints. Like yeah BF has its fair share of garbage design but please be consistent, believe it or not DICE listens and will act on their feedback so you better be damn sure you mean what you say and vice versa.

Watch them add the former E Objective Outlook Station (from pre-rework Breakaway) as its own map in the future, because they removed it with the rework 😂

I immediately thought about that one when I saw mention of the Stadium but really I don't think you can bring it back considering how tiny it was in comparison. You'd have to change and add a lot to make that part a full blown map for 64 players. Could work as a low player count TDM map though.

Do you purposely play with damage numbers turned off? I don’t see how you could ever play this game without vehicle damage numbers lol, the rockets feel like they tickle vehicles without them.

Because the rockets tickle them even with the damage numbers turned on. It's not something that was enabled or there in the game at launch and the implementation they put in was tacked on long after the game was released so it doesn't mesh as well as previous iterations. Didn't feel the need to add more clutter to the already crowded UI.

I will still never understand why they didn’t design a smaller mag for the high power ammo rather than using the standard mag model. Because then you wind up with the large usually 40 round mag with just 30 in it for high power. Only exception is the m5 having its own irl mag modeled in game as the smaller capacity mag. Not a huge issue for the game but still bugs me. Sorry to make you read a poorly designed paragraph.

Large or extended magazines for anything outside of LMGs are a mistake to begin with. I blame COD for it because the so called "best" or "better" Battlefield titles did not have those kinds of things and it allowed LMGs large ammo pool to actually mean something.

Not sure but my guess is it's bait like the rest of the weapons being added in the season. Because they didn't just make the SRAW useless they went out of their way to make sure it wouldn't be viable or more useful that an RPG or Recoilless. I say it's bait because the weapons and gadgets are BF4 related items so it feels like DICE might be trying to pull a "hey you remember these things from BF4" tactic. Even if they had copied the exact SRAW and it's stats from BF4 it wouldn't have been viable in this game because of the agility and speed at which aircraft can move in BF2042, they'd have to actually address that issue that they seem to refuse to acknowledge, or they do and they just prefer to have broken/unbalanced vehicles in the game.

Your commentary on vehicles is spot on. There's no way to balance a heli to be fun for the pilot being able to evade or tank in 128 players and not make them OP for 64. Also there has to be way more lanes for larger player counts or you wind up with Planetside chokepoints of hundreds of people shooting into 1 door way. Dice COULD do 128 players. MAG did it fine on PS3 a decade ago by organizing spawns by squad and making the maps 4 32p sub-maps with objectives that had to be taken that converge in the middle or on one side. Like 4 rush games going on at once and if you finished your path you could then move over to the other lanes. DICE just fucked up 2042 thinking bigger = better without consideration for anything other than their gimmicks. If only they'd stop trying to redefine the genre when they can just reskin BF3/4 and have a more successful product.

The original launch maps for BF2042 were pretty well designed for 128 players or 128 player Conquest. It spaced out the bodies and provided clustered fights across the map without focusing everyone in a single location. Most of the game was designed for that 128 player Conquest ( vehicles, weapons, explosives ) so it's weird that they basically gave up on that and did the reworks which destroyed those better aspects of the maps just to make Breakthrough feel different. At that point they should have just completely killed the 128 player option and tried adjusting all the systems for a max of 64 players but instead they've been trying to drag it along and make everything work. It's an obvious mistake and something DICE has done before for example in BF4 when they tried putting every game mode on every map even though pretty much all the maps in BF4 were designed for Conquest. I know a lot of these mistakes and bad ideas come from specific leads/managers of teams at DICE, the kind that implement things like blurry screen suppression in BF3 and the Attrition System in BFV, they push their agenda on the rest of the game. Some of them thankfully left but there are still a few around.

@@RavicI dont know if I agree that the maps were "well designed" for 128. They mostly feel like scaled up distance between captures like El Alamein. When you get to the nitty gritty the maps didnt have enough cover from other players or vehicles at launch which is why so many needed reworks. When you get to the points it's still rooms and hallways and chokes that work well at 64 but not at 128. Look at D1 & D2 for Kaleidoscope - It's 2 points that are 1 sector but the individual points are not usually taken in parallel by half of each team making them 2 32v32 simultaneous good fights. They are taken sequentially because of the map layout and each only has enough space for maybe 10 guys total to have good angles or cover. B1/2 on the same map has a lot of open ground to cover to get in but they are often fought in parallel as if its 1 point. I enjoy some rooms on Renewal, the now removed village->stadium side of Hourglass, the paired mid bases in Orbital, but all maps had very big open spaces and even inside buildings it was empty. DICE has done a decent job recovering some of the maps and all of them are memorable for their visual styles and I'd like some of them back in future games. THanks for engaging with me and continuing to put out BF content after all these years.

I have never seen that many players on D or B objectives before or after the rework. Unless you are referring to Breakthrough in which case it comes back to my point, the launch version of the maps were designed for 128 player Conquest not Breakthrough or any other game mode. They were designed with spaced out clustered fights in mind and that is what happened regularly on the launch maps. You could spend entire rounds on one side of a map defending and taking objectives on that side because of it which was great because if the same map popped up in the next round you could spend your time on the other side of the map and it would reduce the repetitive feeling. I've seen that complaint of big open spaces, empty buildings and rooms all the time but it's still sad to see such hypocrisy or I guess ignorance. Those people claim BF3 or BF4 had "better" map design but those maps also had wide open spaces with no cover between or around objectives and tons of buildings and rooms with nothing in them but rugs. That is why when you entered a room there would almost always be someone prone or crouched in a corner, because there was nothing in those rooms or buildings. Unless what they are crying about with them being empty is because they didn't have rugs they are full of it. They just can't be honest about what they are really crying about which is they just can't be bothered to run ten seconds to another objective. They can't be bothered to wait a few seconds for another battle/fight, it has to be instant action all the time. It's like people crying about BF2042's map design never played any previous Battlefield game before and just came from COD or Halo. The reworks still have wide open spaces and empty rooms, almost all the "cover" added can be destroyed so it ends up being useless, nothing good came from the reworks except for appeasing players who hide in Breakthrough. The major changes from the reworks were performance and FPS took a hit because they shrunk maps and squeezed sectors and objectives closer together which forced players to be closer together which kills FPS, server performance, and creates even more desync. Along with that most of the reworks changed the maps to have forced chokepoints or ones that are primarily unavoidable, the launch versions had multiple routes and choices but now you're given very little choice or options. Unless you are referring to the El Alamein from the BF2042 Portal your comparison is quite off because of sprint speed, infantry stamina, and vehicle speed. Those are what made El Alamein feel large or big for a Battlefield map in BF1942. But with BF2042's run speed and vehicle speed it makes them feel smaller than BF3's Armored Kill maps. It's the same BS whining and excuses, oh there is no destruction because the entire building can't be knocked down even though that is the case for multiple Battlefield games and apparently being able to destroy a wall isn't "destruction", it's like people confused Levolution with destruction and now no game outside of BF4 has destruction. Same with those people who would say "there is no infantry areas on any of the maps", there were on each of the launch maps it's just that people couldn't be bothered to spawn on them or go to them. Like I said in the video description they are bringing one of those areas back and it's like DICE are saying "hey guys, were you too lazy to notice there was this infantry focused area on this map the entire time?"

Well, BF4 had tons of problems with map design too. For 2042, spread out small fights is one way to do the bigger player count and that's basically what I advocated in reference to MAG but mag would come together into a cluster fuck at the end. Without the consolidation you still need more places to have that happen. If you're just making the same size fights in more places on one map then you're not accomplishing more epic gameplay you're just doing squad rush battles and your battles need more server resources for the same fights and everyone's comp takes a shit. It's all part of the same problem: 128p is the solution to a problem that doesnt exist and is the problem DICE have made for themselves. What's the point of 128 if you're not going to do more with it? Despite the "spread" design you still get sticky points where no one can move in or out like Metro. But unlike BF4 we have turrets, defensive gadgets, wallhacks, and way more people to kill to make a break through. The wall door in Renewal. The front of the boat in Discarded. It's not the walking that's the problem. I will walk to the next fight. It's ending a long hike getting hit by a guy waiting for you to cross the open area or checking your an angle and getting hit after you look away. This happens more when there's more people and no clear lanes between points. I know im going to die to random stuff, I know a vehicle is going to come by and randomly strafe me or i'll round a corner into a roadkill. It's that with 128 people and gadgets and no cover in transit the ratio of good fights to bad fights is skewed. Like the UCAV in BF4 where it's just dying to bullshit. Walking is fine if it makes more good fights by diluting players. It's also fine to have a big open space sometimes and that can be interesting - Caspian has that. Shanghai had open streets and roofs but also a ton of little overhangs or interior sections. Kaleidoscope just fucking sucks. Karkand and Sharqi had some open places but plenty of alleys. There's no perfect map as far as I'm concerned but I'll take the Firestorm ABC tug of warr over anything Kaleidoscope, Manifest, or Hourglass have to offer. Playing with 128 on the current vehicle balance feels like late night Firestorm with 15v15 where you're just fucked and cannot have enough rockets to counter the amount of armor. In this case it's not because there's 5 tanks but because engi launchers are garbo and transports stopped being taxis left on roofs and became flying tanks. As far as destruction...what's destroyable on Kaleidoscope? Discarded? Orbital? Breakaway? The hill points on Manifest sure, The villages in Hourglass, The small buildings on Renewal or the structure of the 2 story gate should have been. I feel like you've lost the plot. Every point in Caspian had good destructible or chunkable buildings besides C which did have trees. Kharg has walls that could be blown out. Zavod had multiple fully destructible buildings. This isnt some rose tinted mandala effect. This game is lacking destruction as delivered. I dont even need the building to fall down. I'd settle for some BC2 skeletons of buildings. Remember environmental kills on Seine Crossing from blasting buildings? Remember the number of cars in the street to use as cover? I'd sacrifice levelution and 128p at the same altar of garbage that doesnt improve the game. I also don't play COD.

@@LionidasL10 The walls that could be destroyed on warehouses and buildings in BF2042 launch maps were the same walls and warehouses in BF3 and BF4 that had walls that could be destroyed. Hourglass basically had an entire city for one objective with nothing but white one story buildings that you could hide a thousand spawn beacons in and all those buildings could be completely destroyed or leveled to the ground. But no no, you're right, there is no destruction in BF2042...It's not like DICE learned from their previous mistakes of making too many things destructible because in the past when they did it meant attackers could have line of sight on all spawn points for an objective. And of course a lot of the walls and buildings that could be destroyed were removed with the reworks. I remember the rubble mechanic from knocking down walls that were high up on maps like Seine Crossing, I also remember that mechanic was removed from BF4 so I guess that means BF4 doesn't have destruction either. I get it though, you're like the ones crying and whining in Twitch chat about no destruction because it's not the exact destruction you want. The launch maps for BF2042 were fine, if they really needed to be reworked or changed then DICE would have been reworking all the maps in BF3 and BF4 as well because those maps had the same glaring issues/problems and in some cases had way more things that needed to be changed or corrected. The reworks didn't make them better, they made them worse and like the scoreboard and tacked on Class system the reworked maps didn't bring the large Battlefield audience back, it drove more away. Seriously the way you describe things it sounds like you never put any real time into any of those Battlefield games. "I also don't play COD" -Has COD videos posted on their channel...

1:03 - I must be getting old because didn't see a thing here. How that i'm suppose to track my rocket? - SRAW is slow and not worth it, got it - The AK 5C sounds a lot better and it would feel punchier enough without the horrible visual recoil. I will die on this hill alone: the problem of the guns not feel satisfying enough to shoot is mostly because the sound not being good enough and second because the recoil is very low and easy to control anyways. Visual recoil will just make things worse. - AI's number 1 on their blacklist: FLACKFIRE stop the boody screen shake why people love shaking so much ? fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Video game dev sits on chair to work: can i make this chair shake for extra immersion? They've only mentioned a few things in the initial Season 7 update like the others replied with. I'm pretty sure there are other things that were done, we definitely noticed the landmine change which really sucks because that was about the only way for a player to reliably kill a tank.

Won't even consider purchasing the game till bots and proximity nameplate spotting is removed. Bots are fucking dumb. Auto proximity nameplates just give too much info, so it ruins the players mental ability to check out and just shoot red things.

Удивительно как в игре за большую цену ещё и добавляют Батлпасс, но контент абсолютно отсутствует как и количество карт. К примеру БФ3 на старте было 9 карт и по 4 карты каждое дополнение. Да и качество игры было куда лучше, хоть на старте было много багов. Но это же Дайс, даже с этим можно смириться. Но БФ 2042 апофеоз наглости и жадности студии.
