Jokes aside these guns are pretty cool I love how detailed they are in their functions they are probably some of the most "authentic" futuristic guns ive seen in FPS

This Battlefield is one of my favorites, the Titan Mode was amazing in this game

Too young to have realized Battlefield actually ventured into Halo territory once.

This was a lot better than most of the futuristic shooters that followed a few years later

My first Battlefield when I was early teenager... my nostalgia..

I like how despite their blocky yet futuristic apperence. Both faction weapons are unique in their own way. Since one of the faction use old style weaponry such as bullets, explosive and equipments. While the other use new age tecnology such as hover, energy and plasma type weapons. And I hope BF2042 would recreate them in future DLC or unlockables.

Also we have battlefield 2142 remastered. User MOD that improves reload animation way better

Tbh great sound and reload anims for a 2006 game,beside half life and half life 2 which is older.

I logged many hours when that game came out. perfect sequel to BF 2. would have been fun to play it again.

I really hope that some of these weapons will be featured in 2042 as experimental futuristic weapons, like the Railgun in Battlefield 4. It would be awesome to see them in next-gen levels of detail.

EA needs to bring this game back, I remember playing this so much as a kid that I had all the weapons, gadgets, and upgrades unlocked. I was in a guild that was pretty active as well.

One of my favorite things about BF 2142 was the assortment of what I refer to as "cassette tape" guns. I can't have been the only one thinking that.

TBH, ever since I played this, I really wish that other FPS games actually take some bit of realism used in BF-2142, specifically about reloading: "There's no such thing about _partial_ reloading, only _full mag_ reload as you throw away the used clips along with any ammo still in it !" Also, all FPS game developers should at least learn from _LucasArts_ about how to handle and use pistols, specifically that used in _Republic Commando_ : "Come on... using and firing pistols from the either side of the screen instead of from dead-center, like any real-life officers would do? You're joking me, right ?"

I love the distinct sound design of 2142 with the little chirps and digital camera noises.

I'm here just laughing at the people who read "2042" instead of "2142". XD

Hopefully later in 2042's lifecycle we start to see this stuff in some way or even the uniforms - kinda like the bf4 dlc

One of my best childhood games, this is the first Battlefield game that I have played.

This here is the unsung hero of the Battlefield saga. The finest in the series IMO. Also the last Battlefield that was made for PC exclusively before it a became consolified and dumbed down for those analog sticks.

These guns look and sound so unique. I wonder what sounds could remake have... I really want this game to be updated. It's a wonderful sci-fi shooter with classes system. I hope we'll see its second breath someday.

I loved the Lambert carbine, would use that with cloaking to flank around a choke point.

I remember the mechanic of LMGs getting more accurate the longer you fire. Interesting approach

What's crazy is during the beta for the game, the Lambert actually even more insane with a higher ROF than at launch. They ended up tuning it down.

Wow! I didnt know so much other futuristic FPS were inspired by the weapon design in this game! I see inspirations for Killzone 2, Black Ops 2-4, .. in there.

Ah, the Voss. One of my all time favorite FPS weapons.

Ganz and Baur all day boiiiii For real though, those were my guns. I first used the Baur. i used to be able to slam out them semi auto shots like a champ, sometimes beating out Voss's in CQC. I later became a Ganz lover after actually learning how it worked and abusing the IDS. The PK rockets were fun times as well. Guy thinks hes in cover.....zoom, dial it in, poot, poot, poot...boom.

Still has better sounds than it's "prequel".

You missed out the main part of the pk rockets....the detination distance selection

What i loved about older BF games was the magazine mechanic,if you were to reload while having 16/30 rounds left, youd lose these 16 bullets and reload a new magazine, really liked it for some reason

Despite this games age, the animations and sound design of the guns are awesome

i have this game on original DVD one of my childhood's best games i liked to play on camp gibraltar map with support class because of the mini-shield device :D and the voss l ar was a pain in the ass >:(
