Pretty sure this the only Rush gameplay I have left or that I actually saved the few times we played it.
For me Rush in BF4 wasn't "Rush" or the game mode most have come to know from previous Battlefield titles like BC2 and BF3. The two things I would put most of the blame on for why Rush was broken or not what it used to be in BF4 are gadgets and map design. The maps in BF4 seem to have Conquest as their focus when they were designed and all other game modes as secondary or tacked on game modes. This is where that too many games modes issue sort of comes into play. Please note for most of this I'm speaking on the subject of vanilla maps and game modes. DLC maps and their DLC only game modes is a rabbit hole of shite that no one wants to go down.
BC2 had the majority of the maps in it designed around Rush and had Conquest thrown in the map somewhere. Also some of the maps were Rush only and others Conquest only. In both cases this made for better more enjoyable maps and game modes.
BF3 seem to focus on one game mode for each map and have the other be added in after. This made for a lot of maps to be good for one and bad for the other but they were still better simply because they were only focusing on a few game modes like Rush and Conquest.
As for gadgets in BF4 well at one point it felt like we were playing a remote control simulator inside of an online FPS multiplayer game. SUAV, UAV, Mortars, UCAV, SOFLAM, the pick-up remote gadgets, all things that encourage players to fire or attack from cover and never expose themselves to actual combat in the game, if that makes any sense.
