Over the last few years or so, the value of these historic military collectibles have gone way up! It appears that many factors caused this, such as liquidity of cash during the 2020-2021 worldwide crisis, the internet, Credit card/ Buy now and Pay later, demand, supply, etc. Well it’s 2024 and there are not many good deals out there so as a collector, where can you find some of the cheapest stuff right now? I go over the classics that I recently found for Cheap.
Note ❗️ : since the release of this video, it appears that some places have ald out or prices have gone up.

I bought a Chinese SKS in 1985. Out the door with 100 rounds of cheap Chinese Ammo for $69. Had to disassemble the entire gun and soak the barrel and action in kerosene for a week to get the dried up old Cosmoline off of it. Mil Surp used to be a good buy, but now, the vast majority are priced so high it's gone past ridiculous. Why buy a 100 year old rifle, at an artificially inflated price in often calibers that are equally overpriced, when you can get a modern bolt action, with a decent scope for less, in a caliber that's typically more available and usually less expensive? There's a reason the vast majority of these guns have been sitting in government ordinance dumps for 60 to 100 years. I can understand the Militaria Collector mentality, but the These Guns Are Good SHTF Optional Battle Rifle mentality is illogical.

Maybe some comments about where the best prices are in 2024 would be a little more helpful than, once upon a time i bought.... But for the record, once upon a time i bought a 69 Z28 for$500 , my buddy bought a mint 66 GTO for $800 , and my favorite...i bought a 72 Chevelle for $50 because the guy thought he spun a crank bearing but it turned out to be a collapsed lifter.

Good video. I think the future of surplus firearms will shift from the dwindling WWII supply to more modern police surplus. A few years ago an Italian law enforcement agency sold off all their old Beretta 32 acp and 380 acp pistols for $200--300. I got a model 82 in great condition. Also, C&R means at least 50 years old so lots of modern firearms including ARs are becoming C&R and attractive to surplus collectors.

The BUL Cherokee is an almost part for part copy of the Tanfoglio/EAA Witness pistols. Never owned a BUL but I had a Witness compact in 9mm and it was a good little shooter. It was the first CCW pistol I bought when I turned 21, trigger was a little mushy in DA, but the SA pull was more than adequate, and the gun shot good groups with good ammo, with shit ammo it tended low right. Definitely regret getting rid of that little gun. If the BUL's are as good as the Witness that they copy, they'll be good guns.

In regards to the bul cherokee, they have new ones for sale around 350 or less at times, i have the compact and full size. The single action is pretty good but the double action is really spongy with a delayed hammer release if you try to stage the trigger. I love this gun but i bought the new one, i havent bought the old ones.

Found a "Used" Zastava M57A (TT33) at a pawn shop for $300 out the door. It was brand new. Whoever bought it I guess shot a mag through it and didn't like it? Idk it had pretty much no wear on it and still had a lot of the original grease on it, also had the original packaging and bits. Chrome version, so it always caught peoples eye any time I'd take it out.

Thirty two a c p is still a wonderful round if you get things like critical defense or silvertip ammunition. The expansion is insane on these things and makes a big difference. In other words, you get the energy delivery to target. That is equivalent to an forty five a c p hardball round.

I remember going to gun shows 15 years ago and seeing those Swiss Rueben rifles everywhere along with spam cans of cheap ammo for them, but they were not very popular because of that weird pull bolt action it had and it really did not have any military history like Mausers, Enfield's or other surplus rifles had so you could buy one pretty cheap back then, Now when I go to gun shows I rarely see any for sale and if I do they are really expensive

My friend got three Mosins from a friend left to him in his will and bought another for $40 years ago. We use them for blowing up pumpkins and other fun stuff and he keeps one out as a backup for deer hunting after his 30-06 and handgun. He has a deer blind that he can lock up his rifles so he just keeps them out there the whole season and brings his handgun for backup on the way in/out to fight werewolves or something. This weekend is the last weekend for deer season (bow hunting) so he is cleaning out his shack and bringing it all back home after the Sunday morning hunt

Unfortunate that Nagant revolvers no longer make a list like this. I remember when you could get them - with holster and cleaning kit - in immaculate condition for well under two bills. Wasn't that long ago, actually. To get even more extreme, I still remember when milsurps were practically being given away to good homes back in the 80s (I exaggerate, but not by much) - literal crates of Mosins, like-new British Enfields, the list went on and on. And if you were OK with sporterized, they nearly *were* free. So I honestly can't wrap my head around ANY of this. As much as I enjoy KZfaq, I can't help but think all the "Mosins Actually Rule!" videos over the years had more than a little something to do with this.

Carcano’s really ate shit though. I bought one for $75 in 2014 and haven’t been able to get it to fire since. I hit the round with the bolt and it didn’t go off. I set the round on a tree stump and got away just in time for it to fire off. I looked at the firing pin and there was practically nothing left. It literally broke off on an original surplus 6.8 Carcano round. Ridiculous.
