Part of me believes that when life returns to Cyrannus, the people would see the Adamant, a relic of a forgotten past. But the "nt" part would be erased by battle damage, and the people would refer to it as the Adama

Roland Lytle 7 months ago I've always wanted to play BSG: Deadlock, as I've heard many good things about the game especially many of the fan favorite BSG: Deadlock Colonial and Cylon Empire ships.

My head canon is that they were still used by the end of the war, but most were destroyed because of the lack of flak fields. The fact that the Colonials were willing to use jerry rigged civilians ships as adhawk war ships by the end of the war also supports this theory.

I wouldn't underestimate the Adamants guns. Those light guns make up for their size with high accuracy even at long ranges, making her the ultimate corvette killer. If she stays at long range she can point for point even stand up to some cruiser. The lack of punch becomes only noticeable once the Cylons whip out the really big ships.

I've seen them kill Basestars. Packs of Adamants, operating in pairs can lay down a shocking amount of fire for their size, while their embarked squadrons of vipers can see off fighter attacks and missiles. They really are Baby Battlestars

The Adamant is a really good ship early on, but once the Artemis becomes available there really isn't much point in using it, which is way better in the bang-for-your-buck department.

Adamant walls are cheaper so have 3 adamants in wall, 1 corvette for spotting and drawing fire, 1 repair ship, and 3 other ships to fill out your fleet. That wall is your anchor and will murder anything dumb enough to get close.

The light guns are also good for thinning out enemy fighters, second only to the Orion

So the "Wall of Death" technicality makes the Adamant class a "Ship of the Line" or "Ship of the wall".

A the Adamant wall. This ship stays useful even into late game when used in 3s or 4s. 2 Adamants and a gunship or 2 gunships and an adamant is also useful. Due to thous light guns you can lure fighter into them letting outnumbered fighters win out agents 3 to one odds (possibly without lossing a single fighter group) and maybe higher. Note a lone adamant is likely a dead one so you should wall them. You also want a corvette for scouting ahead.

My fleets almost always have a 'Wall' unit. Adamants are the cheapest that let me get other important units. Normally my wall is 3 units with some exeptions leading to 4. For a 4000 point fleet I go with 4 adamants and 2 corvettes. When my commander levels for 5000 points I do 3 adamants, 1 corvette, 2 berserks, and 1 950point ship. That 5000 point fleet can handle 8000+ fleets if used right.

I have found that using a pair (or less) Adamant's as a C.A.P. for my Battlestar's against Cylon fighters extremely useful. Any Wardrivers or Heavy Raiders that slip past my fighter screen can be eaten up by my Adamants', just make sure you Focus Fire on that Cylon squadron, and poof.

Thanks for this info, was under impression that since it's basically a capital ship, that those guns would be too slow to hit the Cylon raiders.

They are very usefull early game - the moment you pomp out few of those into your fleets they get all sorts of beef - they are tanky (for that stage of the game) and if you manouver them well they can get insane amount of beating for their size - they can get a squadron of fighters to deal with missles - and they can dish some of those as well albeit it takes 4 turns for reload - for their cost and capability they are an excellend all rounder before you can get some Artemises. And yes a wall of death works remarkably well.

I have 5 of these in my home fleet so I have 7 mk 2 vipers that will pick off ships that run and the ships will make two walls of death

Today I beat up a Cylon 8.5 K fleet with 6 Adamants and a Manticore in Admiral mode :D It was with mixed missiles, no Nukes and all MK2 Vipers

I just line them up in line astern formation, cross the enemies T and let them have it. Sometimes if it's a particularly tough toaster my formation even surrounds it

Ladies and Gentlemen and all those beyond and inbetween, the BEST Colonial ship in the First Cylon War. I don't care what anyone says, the Adamant is functionally the best. Early game, mid, late, doesn't matter, 2 or 3 of these badboys can function in almost any circumstance. Fitting, then, that it contains the name of the best military officer in Colonial history. Can't spell Adamant without Adama.
