How is Galactica anything like Star Wars

Never understood why they called it a ripoff, not then, and still don't. Inspired by? of-course SW was successful and they wanted to ride the gravy train. Unfortunately it was too expensive and not successful enough.

I personally don’t want them to reboot the newer series. But instead go back to the beginning when war starts between colons and humans. Use this series to show much more of the ground combat missions/stories. Still for sure follow some space combats with a younger Adama.

Sorry the original is not a star wars rip off, it is a fully developed universe of its own and was a landmark of tv production. Credit where credit is due please.

I loved the reboot, but the last season was really bad. "They have a plan" became a joke, there was no plan at all.

It was about the dangers of AI. That's it.

It also had a couple spin-off series/web series. Blood and Chrome was almost entirely action. It probably wasn't austainable long-term, budget wise.

one of the best, if not the best, Sci Fi series ever.. yes, i am an ORIGINAL Trekkie.. and love them dearly. THIS was next level production, acting, writing, story telling, cliffhanging.. you name it.. A list cast, some unknowns who became stars in their own right, some older A listers given new life. if they do it right, i am 100% on board. but, they have HUGE Battlestar feet to fill.. huge.. i mean.. HUGE.. you had,, 10-12 characters that ALL MATTERED in this show, and that many again "side characters" that remained relevant..even if short lived ( dying due to radiation exposure ..etc ).. yea.. totally down for a new BSG show... and mini movies...

I loved the original, I loved the reboot even more. It was a great series. I have known of plans to do another reboot for a few years now. This has the potential to be a really good thing.

The original was nothing like Star Wars! Humanity against living machines and other very alien creatures.

I wish we now more about New Caprica and Laure roslin

So here's an idea have a second cylon war where the colonials have the ability to fight back and not get beat down; aka the colonies dont get destroyed and they dont technologically, regress they adapt and thrive. And the cylons are extra galactic invaders from a thought to be dead empire, for which they are carrying out their masters will. And you give a true back story of their creators being a warring empire of predatory reptiles that created them. But the colonies created their own cylons to help them fight back, but are treated like people when they show sentience, because humanity was once like the cylons they humanity was a creation of that empire as slaves, food, entertainment and for pleasure.

I never understood it back in 1978, and I still don't--the "blatant Star Wars ripoff," line. I understand what went into it and how it played off Star Wars' popularity, but sorry, in what it actually WAS and its aesthetic, it just isn't. Other than being in space, I never thought of SW at all, at any time when I saw it then or since. If it IS, then so are a dozen other things.

God, it still looks so good though. It's aged very well. I think the BSG universe's richest vein of potential storytelling lies on Kobol and the events leading up to the exodus of both the humans and the 13th Tribe Cylons.

Battlestar has a better more developed storyline than Star Wars. Change my mind.

The reboot was canceled

I actually think the reboot that came out a few years ago was to dark. Stargate Atlantis had higher ratings. It was just a little bit to dark.

Stop reboots we need new stories

It's nowhere near a ripoff and the reboots... sucked and now she's taking her awful acting skills to Star wars... Where she literally plays the exact same one-dimensional character

I never liked the reboot. You had to follow every episode in the right order or you would lose track of the whole story. The original did not have that problem. There were only a few double episodes then.

It stunk to high heaven.

Decades? The show wasnt put on thw air in the 1950's. It aint THAT old.
