Show: Battlestars
Host: Alex Trebek
Production Co: Merrill Heatter Productions
For information about the game place you can go to this site below:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlest...
________________________________________
The show announcer during the first run of the show was Rod Roddy, he served as the narrator for the show "Soap." He also announced for game shows such as Press Your Luck, Love Connection and the most famous game show "The Price is Right," he announced until his death in 2003.
________________________________________
Merrill Heatter was one half of the known "Heatter-Quigley Productions." Along with Bob Quigley produced "High Rollers" with Alex Trebek as host, "Gambit", and their most famous "Hollywood Squares." Their company was sold to Filmways.
Merrill Heatter would go solo and continue to produce shows including All-Star Blitz, Bargain Hunters, and an updated version of High Rollers, all in the 1980's, unfortunately all the shows lasted, at most one season.
Merrill Heatter recently found success with his new show "Catch 21" on GSN, which ran for 4 seasons.
________________________________________
Around the same time Battlestars was on the air, Alex Trebek also hosted a show in his native Canada called "Pitfall," the production company behind Pitfall had a couple of their own as the company went bankrupt, not only did contestants didn't get their prizes they won, Alex never got paid for hosting the show.
Alex Trebek would team up with Merrill Heatter a few more times hosting the pilot shows of "Lucky Numbers" (Updated version of High Rollers in 1985) and the infamous "Malcolm." A year after Malcolm was taped; Alex Trebek got the job as host of "Jeopardy!"

I was the champ at the end of this episode. It was a very wonderful experience and I earned my dowry on the show. I got married 2 months later. I visited Jeopardy about one and a half years ago and had my picture taken with Alex. It was a blast!

I have tried to submit an application for "Wheel of Fortune" but my son is a sports director for a CBS station in Montana and that eliminates me from being on it! Oh well....

You could draw a gameboard like this, and use numbered cards 1-10 and have the contestants draw a card at random to see which number on the grid to light up. Use the questions from the Squares home games. The show didn't last long enough to warrant MB or anyone doing a home version of it. Although other shows whose run was about as long as this got a box game or computer game

I guess the $10K top prize in the bonus was only for this week of shows. On the 12/1/81 episode Catnap1972 posted earlier this week, the bonus was for $5K, and they hadn't yet started giving players the free look seen in this episode, the Seinfeld episode and the finale.

Possibly because bluffs weren't written for them, they were shown 2 answers on a screen in front of them: one right, one wrong and were told to pick what they thought was the right one.
