The movie studios keep making shows for the woke LGBT/feminist audience and are then surprised to find that they have an insufficient audience to turn a profit.

Female hero training equals “Tell a man who HAS actually trained for years to do something that you can do whatever he does and do it BETTER.. Because you’re a woman”.

One of two things is possible. Either they believed there was a huge, un-served audience that was just waiting to embrace a show like Batwoman, or they hoped to somehow _create_ that audience by lecturing and virtue-signaling it into existence. Either way, this theoretical audience failed to materialize, or was never there in the first place.

What Batwoman really lacked was respect toward the Batman Universe. Compare it to any successful batman media. He is one of the best superhero, with a rich universe, but the writers only treated him like a joke, a has-been only here to be replaced by a """better""" new character. No wonder this was a dumpster fire.

Drinker, a million views in 14 days is fantastic! You're saying the things that need to be said, and people are clearly behind you. Keep it up even if you'd prefer we go away now. Also, extra points for choosing Jack. Your taste in film is reflected by your taste in bottles.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Caroline Dries the Diversity Hire? I thought not, it’s not a story competent writers would tell you. It’s a CW Legend; Caroline Dries was a showrunner of the CW so untalented and ill suited to leadership that she could use her gender to influence the writers to create… plot contrivances. She had such a knowledge of plot armour that she could even keep her main character from dying. The Dark Side of Hollywood is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be corrupt. She became so powerful that the only thing she was afraid of was… losing her show which, eventually of course she did. Unfortunately, she drove her own show into the ground then the network killed it in its hiatus. It’s ironic, she could save the character from death… but not her show.

As a straight, white woman who has no desire to beat anyone up nor watch other women beat anyone up, I can't help but celebrate. To me girl power was when Princess Leia grabbed the blaster in the first Star Wars movie and starting shooting things up, but the idea that women are gonna test muscle to muscle with men is beyond absurd, it's even dangerous and disgusting. Women are fundamentally the peace keepers because they not only don't have the muscles, but they don't particularly enjoy watching their men beaten and killed either. Wars don't end well for women, so they don't enjoy them. Men for some reason seem to like them. Women will fight if they have to, but they don't go looking for trouble or have a desire to test themselves against men in combat. The whole idea was a nonsensical, narcissistic fantasy fed to women and they never should have accepted it. That said, women don't want to see shrieky, whiny women who cower in the face of danger, and I hate when female characters taunt the psychopath or won't shut up like in 'Die Hard' or 'Fargo'. If a psychopath tells you to shut-up ladies, guess what SHUT UP. A smart heroine is like Sigourney Weaver in Ghost Busters II where she plays along with the psycho to save her baby. But as Billy Bob Thornton's character once famously pointed out, 'You don't dare someone to kill you.' Especially when the person is clearly a psychopath.

And nothing of value was lost.

You know something is wrong with the show when criticisms of the show has more viewers than the show itself

When I read the title of this video I thought maybe a movie, or something, was being made and they just decided to cancel it, but to my astonishment, it's a series with 3 seasons. I honestly had no idea this was a show.

That "It _will_ be perfect...when it fits a woman." line, applied to Batman's batsuit and delivered by a "woman" who buys her clothes from the "Junior High Boys" selection, was pretty hilarious.

Seeing Batwomans massive cowl with her painfully small female body was one the most unintentionally funniest things I've ever seen.

I figured series like this fit right into a studio's "tax write-off" category which is why shows like this continue to appear...It's probably more so that these "message" shows allow the studio to say retroactively "we tried, it's not our fault that nobody watched".

The Drinker never disappoints

I have the feeling that Amazon's LOTR will be a pivotal point in this situation. Literally millions of eyes will be watching not the series but the numbers of it. If it is at least a moderate exit (God forbids!), the message will take force and a second age will dominate the screens. If it flops as we all expect, the tide will begin to change and the message will be diluted and toned down and (hopefully) die of starvation.

I remember when this first aired I couldn't finish the first episode. I'm surprised it went on for so long.

When you unironically use the word "HERstory" in response to a failed show, you're bound to get laughed at.

I am a 51 year old male and, in the spirit of fairness, I actually watched the first three episodes. I can honestly say I have never seen a show so abruptly and laughably horrible. Anyone who saw it knows what I am talking about. In my opinion, the main reason the show failed is because its purpose for existence WAS to replace Bruce Wayne as Gothom's protector with a woman. Also, the focus should have been on developing her as an interesting character, not focus on her sexuality.

The fact that this got three seasons but brilliant shows like Firefly or Farscape get cut short is just mind-boggling.

She was too stunning and brave for this world. I guess we'll have to make due with likable characters and good shows.

I've certainly noticed a shift in society for a little while now where more and more people become fed up with things being forced down their throats. They're becoming more vocal and want to stop all the insanity

Here's one of my fondest and yet most bewildering memories of when Batwoman started...It was clear _who_ this series was being made to pander to; what demographic they wanted... And yet, when Ruby Rose was announced as playing Kate Kane...that very demographic of identity-representation-brain-parasites, all REE'ed in objection at Rose's casting for being - and I quote - "Not Gay Enough." That should have been the show's very first _red flag_ to indicate that they were going to _lose_ this fight. Because they were attempting to pander to a demographic who literally will _never_ be pleased with anything. They will just move the goalposts with every little victory they gain, so they can continue to feel put-upon. But they ignored that Red Flag...and instead steered into the skid, going full-force into letting the audience know that this show was "correcting the mistake" of Batman by having him be a Woman from now on...So you're pandering to a demographic that you can't please, and your first step is to alienate anyone else from your potential audience...Genius strategy.

That "HERstory" quote was really quite impressive. "It went exactly how it was supposed to" - meaning it was supposed to be widely hated, seemingly only approved for further seasons to get squeeze a few more memes from it, and then summarily cancelled to near unanimous applause? That's a defiant L if I've ever seen one!

The real question is why did the LGBTQ etc community boycott the show? They are obviously the target audience, and yet they decided to let it die.

This show failed because the people behind it wanted to preach to an uninterested audience, they wanted to spread a shitty message, not make a decent & entertaining show.

The people over at CW are actually out of their minds. No single network produces this many awful shows and still carry on making more. "Clearly the viewers are the problem, they just don't get it."

I still can't believe, this shitshow lasted long enough to have as many seasons as HANNIBAL and DAREDEVIL and even more than THE PUNISHER... You can't tell me that this disaster comes even close to the ratings and financial success of these Shows!!! We don't even have to talk about the qualitative differences!!!

I love how these people claim history is "sexist" because of the "his" part of it. Granted, these people are offended by the words human, woman, women, female or any thing that has the word "man", "men", and "male" in it. As for the show itself, as soon as Kate said "it will be, when it fits a woman" I was instantly turned off. No tears will be shed from me. Laughs will though.

Even though it really old now,you should do one for the tv show Birds of Prey. I’d love to see what you thought of that. It was done in 2002 and only lasted one season. The premise is based on Batman disappearing from Gotham and Oracle,Huntress, and Dinah a telepath coming together to protect the city. It wasn’t horrible considering it’s age,but I definitely think you’d have a field day with it lol.

Can anyone please explain to me why risk averse, ruthless, money grabbing entertainment industry executives are stubbornly wasting hundreds of millions of dollars on "the message"?

There are two things the really bug me about the "when it fits a woman" crack. First is that there are legitimate reasons to modify a costume made for 6ft 190lb man to suit the fighting style of a 5'7" 120lb woman. In the comics, Dick Grayson made alterations to fit his more acrobatic style (lighter and a shorter cape) when he temporarily filled in for Bruce. The line "Perfect for him, but not for me." would be more accurate and less cringy. Second is that Batwoman only exists BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE BATMAN!!! Why alienate your audience by insulting a character people love?

I think a lot of people are generalizing the radical woke with “the message” being bad, when really they are just bad at making content. Just make a strong female character with actual flaws they have to overcome and don’t push men down and bam decent show. It’s not that hard and yet they make it so difficult.

Honestly, considering the absolute laughing stock that the show was even before the pilot aired, the lack of any increase in quality in any capacity, and incredibly low viewing figures, the show’s longevity made me begin to wonder if it was actually a front for money laundering, or maybe some hardcore activist had the daughter of a CW executive tied up in their basement.

Ironic how the strongest, most iconic female characters in onscreen fiction were all written in the late 70's and 80's, at a time that "The Message" wasn't a thing... and by men.

Even the largest studios will only tolerate flushing money down the toilet for so long.

We, the viewers, have the power. We need to cancel more of these shows by an unwavering commitment to NOT watch them. Even watching out of morbid curiosity makes it look to the creators that they are popular. Do NOT watch shit shows. We must collectively send a message.

I was surprised this got greenlit for the 1st season, I was shocked when it got a 2nd and by the 3rd I just don't understand how the people financing this ever had money, to begin with.

We live in a reality where Batman:Bad Blood and Batman: Mistery of Batwoman, two small budget direct to dvd animated movies(very average and kind problematic movies) were able to tell a better origin history for Batwoman for Kate Kane and a better history of a black Batwoman than THE CW and its writers and actors, which had more resources and audiences. Makes respect animation even more than I already do.

When a show is so diverse that you can't tell the characters apart in the clips you're showing, that's perfection.

The only thing I'm going to miss about the show are all the reviews and episode breakdowns. They were always good for a laugh.

Every time I see Ruby Rose in the bat suit I can't help but think of that line from Mike Myers in the movie So I Married an Axe Murderer, "look at that head, it's like an orange on a toothpick".

That "HERstory" comment really has me conflicted. On the one hand, one has to admire someone's dedication to a show such as this, regardless of how bad it is. On the other hand, it is quite hilarious to consider a low budget show something that would go down favourably in history books... or herstory books, I guess.
