If you were stationed at Baumholder or the area, please comment. German American Fest US Army Baumholder, Germany. This video was done for the benefit of those 1000's of soldiers stationed there to see what it is like today. A few food stands and a few safety stands and that was it. In the evening the US Army band was to play...but... So it became a walk thru the town. This used to be a yearly event, they are trying to revive. Baumholder today is like a ghost town and the base is a skeleton of what it used to be. The ROCK where it is the end of the line for the train, it actually backs out. This year they had a 4th of July celebration....but it is on post no DOD or US Armed forces ID, no entry. BTW the pool hall with the flags outside used to be a place where you could buy a girl a small-sized bottle (glass full) of champagne for around 25 to 50 bucks, maybe more if you were looking extra dumb. It was a strip club.
