Went to the Husqvarna dealer and that's where to get parts for your baumr-ag SX82. I hung my 24" bar and chain up for the 20" bar and went for a full chisel chain out of preference and I'm highly satisfied with it, the big bar and chain will be used only for the big stuff. As for other Chinese saws I'm not sure what's interchangeable, they did use the Husqvarna as their template so not too sure there but this particular saw is good for that reason and hopefully the rest of their range follow this saw in the future but for now you can certainly replace those cheap crappy bars and chains with good ones from there because Husqvarna ones go straight on.
Oh, yes BAUS definitely takes their bars and chains if you are a BAUS owner. Found that one out same day so I'd say pretty much all the Chinese saws do.

Nice vids Gav. I’m in Vic. Just bought SX82 today (Edisons AU$154) and picked up a side cover, fuel hose, spare exhaust from Farmertec in China. $60 shipped (parts about $25) Noticed that Johno & Jono stock Hsky parts in Aus too. Thanks for all the tips mate 🇦🇺

You can also use the dogs at the front too and get 2 instead of 1 supplied, gives you much better control of the cut and keeps it further away from the wood

Thanks a lot mate for putting this up, I'm going to husqvana to change out my bar and chain from a 24 inch to a 20 inch and change that side cover to something more reliable.

I have a Greencut GS7200 which is basically a Husqvarna 365. It even has this cast into the crankcase. I have a tip which might help. I found that the pin that holds the throttle trigger comes out over time making the throttle stick. My solution was to put a little hot melt glue on each side of the pin. It stops it working loose but when you need to take it out the glue will break off easily with a flat screwdriver. Also I read somewhere that these saws are made in the same factory as the Husqvarna but during the night shift when normal production stops. I think they're top quality & when I need parts I'll just get Husqvarna parts as the people who sold mine have no idea about after sales & parts. Amendment : the hot melt glues melts with the heat from the chainsaw. I shall try Araldite instead.

Gavin i'm an old time dealer and you need to smarten up on a few phases I know and understand you received no formal training in chain saw servicing so let me help a tad now i'm not being a smart ass or anything but first up chain selection I see your using super chisel a chain meant for professional use in green timber not old dry firewood a semi chisel chain would be better it will have more endurance and hold it's cutting edge better in dry hard timber. Super chisel requires a keen edge and more precise angles that's why its better on green clean timber. If you can next time the bar adjuster fails try your huskie dealer for a replacement I see when I visited the Edisions site some assy's are cheaper than buying the screw and bar adjustment tang. I don't know who schooled you but I was taught to assemble the bar and chain onto the saw with the saw powerhead sitting on a bench and not upside down like in your video. I sit the saw in front of me and fit the chain into the floating rim then the bar making sure all will rotate and then I back the adjuster rearwards to give the tang a bit more room to pick up and engage the slot ..... now you will find the side / cover over the clutch will engage easier and then pushing the cover In adjust the chain tension whilst holding the bar tip up snug the bar nuts and all's sweet. The sprocket nose allows you to add a bit more tension on the chain but overtightening the chain will lead to the chain stretching and more adjustment. Now when the chain does need adjustment let the saw cool as adjusting a hot chain is not a smart move as it stretches the chain let them cool then adjust. Just hold the tip up and adjust the screw and all should be sweet.

bob cornwell mate this has been an interesting read and I appreciate that you're genuinely trying to help not just be smart but just a couple things to help clear things up for you. I'm in Australia so not sure where you're from but my schooling is different and the upside down trick I never did until I actually became qualified in chainsaw operation and basic maintenance the teacher said instead of having to pinch the bar just flip it upside down its easier so I've just gone with that half the time. Not sure about super chisel or anything like that but that is a full chisel chain and that's a 20" bar and the manufacturer is Husqvarna and it was a good investment it seems to cover my broad range of tasks I apply it to really well. I'm no expert but I've been around chainsaws my whole life but from one country to the next I imagine there's going to be a little confusion between how people are trained and do things but that's completely understandable. Thanks for watching and commenting it's all appreciated.

Hi have you tried to replace the bar studs. One of mine broke and can't get get it to unscrew, moves 1/8 turn either way and jams
@gavmansworkshop5624
@gavmansworkshop5624 7 жыл бұрын
poppy poppy yea mate usually if they're stuck drill a smaller hole into the bolt and use a bolt extracting tool which is a screw looking thing that beds into the hole as you turn it anticlockwise and allows you to unscrew the snapped bolt but then again that's for flush snap off's. Is it flush or sticking out?

Thanks for the quick reply. I have 20mm or so sticking out and i can get a good grip with a pair of vice grips but can't turn a full turn. It seems as though there is a tab on the end of the stud within the motor that locks it in place. Ive looked at other videos where the stud simply screws out, but this is very reluctant to budge. I think the easy out would break off under pressure when turning it. I am waiting on Edisons to get back to me with a suggestion.

poppy poppy ok there's no stub bit on the other end it sounds like you've got buggered threads inside which can happen when tightening your bar down you can twist the stud further and cross the threads causing that to happen. If it happens to me I'll get those out, replace those studs with husqvarna ones but I'll drill those holes out (aluminium crank case, that's why those threads can fail so easily) and install stainless steel helicoils in those holes that usually makes them much better and stronger with added reliability by a long shot. If I ever do this it'll definitely be another video for sure.

poppy poppy, you have prob sorted this by now, the bar studs are press fit, push them back into the oil tank, new one, put sealant on and fit from inside the oil tank, and pull into the case with the bar nuts and spacers.

Can you use a Husky chain tensioner on these Baumr's?

Yea it's roughly the husky 362-390 just off the top of my head and I found that out much later because I didn't know that myself. It's much better but still not as good as my modification which eliminates those troublesome gears.
