G'Day Mate. Thanks for the video. I bought a Baumr AG saw on eBay close to 10 years ago (when nobody had ever heard of them). Most people laughed at the concept of a $120 chainsaw. It's been used mostly for camping, cutting up firewood and chopping up the occasional fallen tree. I've never adjusted the carb or changed the plug. It starts within 3-4 pulls cold and first start warm. Things I've noticed: - The original chain eventually could not be sharpened any more and I bought 2 new chains on eBay a couple of years ago and they go through timber like butter. The original chain was surprisingly good. - The chain oiler leaks a bit - The "T" handle on the pull start broke (needs replacing) - At one point the pull start mechanism/spring got clogged with sawdust. An easy job to pull down, clean and reinstall. These days it looks old and tired but still cuts wood. For the money it has been outstanding.

Thanks mate....Great video...I am in Sydney and we had a monster storm here last Sunday..two weeks prior we had fires..unreal.Anyway one of my big conifers slipped and is now leaning on my tool shed..had a couple of silly quotes and deceided to do it myself with a mate.Its a really awkward position being over the shed and the fenceline.So bought a Giantz Pole Saw for the hard bits and bought a Baumr chainsaw 72 cc Pro series...the 62cc was sold out so I thought better to upgrade than go down as the trunk is pretty chunky..It seems you get a fair amount of bang for your buck with these saws. I have a couple of the Giantz brand saws, 57 and a 63cc I think. the motors on them were great but it drove me bonkers that every thing else fell apart on them. Pull cords and springs, oilers, adjusters, oil drives and even the top handle all got replaced on more than one occasion. Pity, as I said the motors ran like a train. Bought a Huski 460 for my sanity in the end and don't regret it, but I keep walking past the Chinese saws thinking I should build a Frankinsaw with all the bits .

They sent me the correct chain within a couple of days. The chain they sent wasn’t an Oregon chain it was just a generic Chinese chain. This saw will be used mainly for slab work with a skip chain and 42 inch bar. That will test it out.Thanks for watching. 👌

OK so a late update from me. I couldn't get the company I bought the saw off to acknowledge that the chain was the wrong size even after sending them measurements of the bar and chain so I bought a chain myself from the local light engines place. The saw ran good for 10 mins then just died. Would start up again for 20 seconds and died. I tried different spark plug, tuning the carby etc with no success. Contacted the company, they didn't wanna know about it and refused a refund. So it sat in my shed up until last week when I thought stuff it and put a proper huaqvarna carby on it from an old worn out husqvarna I had laying around. Exact same carby to look at but different brand obviously. Started and runs really well! I'll have to give it a workout this upcoming season but hopefully I have fixed the problem.
@aaronsadventures06
@aaronsadventures06 2 жыл бұрын
Finally have had the chance to run the saw. As I stated earlier, I put a carby from a husqvarna saw in it. It is from a husqvarna 365 for reference. Have used it heaps this season, works really well. Have the occasional issue with the pull start jamming amd it leaks chain and bar oil like everyone else has stated but nothing too serious. Overall it's a good saw for the price, just a shame I had to do a fair bit of work to it to actually get it going the way it should be. Having said that, I own a baumr ag pole saw with all the different attachments for cutting, pruning etc and that thing is a beast! So overall I would buy another baumr ag product again if I needed to.

Bought two of these ten year ago for $100 each lasted me 3 months, plastic gears for oil lubrication and sprocket, chain tensioner snaps/fiddle, fuel lines are crap, return is likely to pop off and seize pull starts fall apart, you could say I used them quite heavily, on par with commercial usage, save your bux and buy a Stihl Chinese copy, that’s 3 months using the second saw as parts...

The parts that do break are not expensive to buy. It's not a bad saw, but it's almost certain you will need to do a bit of work right off the bat, some videos around them. 1/ the bar oil *will* leak, the pressed steel section under the chain cover is a poor fit. It needs taking off and a bit of sealant added to seal the gallery where it feeds the bar, easy fix. 2/ the fuel hoses are garbage. Just get on and replace them, they will fail and they will fail in a way to make you think it's OK. 3/ fuel filter *will* fall off and have a split to due to (2). Tune out of the box is a bit suspect, but due to 2/3 I fiddled mine a lot, so it might not be too bad. The fuel tank design is bit rubbish, it's the whole handle, so holds loads, but actually won't pick up about 10% in a best case and maybe about 30% at worst. Would have been better to have blocked the handle off and had less overall volume. The fuel usage is a bit high, but that could be my tune being off too. Compared to a MS211 it's very good value, sorry I didn't buy this first. Compared to the MS462 (with computer) it is sluggish, but then you can't compare price. Parts are *very* cheap on hutzl website. Don't expect your local husky dealer to entertain any idea of helping you with this copy, I got super short shrift trying to get a replacement clutch.

@basketcasebuilds5712
@basketcasebuilds5712 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Darren, sounds like the chain saw is flooded. Most 2 strokes that have fuel leaking from the muffler shows that the needle and seat may have got stuck in the carburettor. Try starting it with out the choke next time. If in doubt claim warranty. It may cost you in postage but you send the problem back and let them deal with it.

@basketcasebuilds5712

Darren Wilson ,paranormal ,mars,moon & beyond. The carburettor needs to come out. It generally is a pain in the but to pull this as it is in a confined area under the air filter. Some times you can tap the carburettor with the handle end of a screw driver to shock release the needle to let work again. I wouldn’t get super deep with it as I said previous claim warranty.

Confusing- the spec chain is a 0.063" gauge 3/8 pitch from the manual & not a 0.058" although it would also fit. I had the exact same problem as you did when you fitted the chain. Only the drive sprocket was catching on the chain sprocket as it needs to shuffle left/right to match. After sliding the chain back and forth on the bar it slid ok. With the motor running is smoothed itself up and cuts fine without getting hot so it must be right. Also, the Oregon chain supplied has no spec labels on the box. Measuring the chains guide thickness with calipers says its 0.063" What are your thoughts?
@basketcasebuilds5712
@basketcasebuilds5712 3 жыл бұрын
I had another comment that the 0.063 chain will still work once the the bar and sprocket wear in. Interestingly enough they had a 0.058 chain in stock and just sent it out free of charge no questions asked. Makes me wonder if they have had this issue before. I’m still using the 0.058 chain with no dramas and plan to move to the 0.063 chain once this one wears out. I wasn’t keen on trying to run the 0.063 it was just to tight. Thanks for the comment and checking out the channel.👌

It's plastic-eeeeyyyy? You'll find chainsaws made in the 1960's that have plastic parts. It's not like polymers are a new thing here. The moment a crankcase or connecting rod is made of plastic is the moment you should be concerned. But hey if you want an all metal saw and double the weight (and cost) then I won't stop you. Look for one made with 24 karat gold. I think I would call it...The Treasury :DDDDD Now I shall wait for for this item to be on clearance.

If it involves your lively hood I would be cautious due to spare part turn around time. You will find bars and chains at your local chainsaw shop but when it comes time for a specific engine part, say throttle linkage the internet/eBay is probably your only source giving you a 2-3 day down time. If you had a known branded saw it could be just a simple trip down the street. I only use this saw for collecting wood at my property for heating. I haven’t had any dramas yet.

@@basketcasebuilds5712 great advice mate, the only thing I'd use it on is as a dedicated palm tree saw where I don't have to use one of my huskys or stihls on it. First impressions: Get a freakin’ knife Dude! Who da phunk uses a screwdriver to open up crap? I mean, really! Looks ridiculous! Bummer about the chain, but glad they made it right. You should go easy on anew chain, and only use 1/2 to 3/4 throttle at the most, for a couple of minutes. But I see you just proceeded to rev the beegeebus out of it, and turn it before it’s even run in. Hard to watch, sorry, just call it like I see it. But, these are throw away saws anyways, so guess it don’t t matter?! Chain dull @ 20:10; you should be more concerned about that than with the oiler! Please stay safe and Healthy! If you have to cut a large-diameter hardwood log out in the bush, this saw will light it on FIRE, literally! While it's kind-of funny to behold, in truth it is a serious bushfire hazard due to the placement of the exhaust port. It couldn't be better designed to spread the fire too, as the burning embers get sprayed out in all directions and cluster-bomb all the fresh new sawdust all around you!
