It's amazing that after Thomas repeatedly threatens and scares Baxter she still tries so hard to show him she cares and wants to be fond of him. She really is a sweetheart on par with Anna, Bates, Molesly and Sybil

I like the character of Baxter. She is a moral person despite her criminal record.

I can’t imagine what three years in a women’s prison in that time could’ve been like. Then getting the rare chance to change your life with a good job. One of the best for a woman of her station. And then watching it possibly disappear.

Am I the only one who thinks Baxter is really pretty? Although it's not really her looks that makes her appealing, more like... she just comes across as such a sweet, pleasant person, that I can't help but enjoy looking at her. X)

Old habits die hard I guess. Barrow's bullying of Baxter was appalling. But I'm glad they became good friends at the end.

We really need a sequel of the movie. I wanted to see more of Baxter and Molesly's relationship.

Baxter is so genuine and kind. The actress plays the part so well. I always wished she and Mr. Molesly might fall in love. They deserved each other.

I'm glad she spoke up for herself and didn't give in to Barrow ....I think that's why she was able to forgive him ...in the end we know that she was coerced and took the fall for the crime ... she paid her dues ....

I just recently saw this actress on Midsomer Murders. She was good, but on Downton Abbey she shows so much more.

I always felt sorry for Baxter as she has always been a good person. I think she stole the jewels from her previous employer not because she was nasty and an opportunist but she must have sold the jewels to pay for something or help someone as servants pay was pretty bad. Maybe she had family ill and hungry. Many crime records of people back then were of stealing as people were starving and often food to survive, penalties were harsh back then even for the most minor of crimes.

how are their not more scenes of baxter online? she is one of my favorite characters along with lady cybill, moseley, and lady rose played wonderfully by the incredible lily james.

Julian Fellows really cleaned up Barrow's character the last seasons of the show.

I wonder what Thomas would have done if he had known Anna was raped by Mr. Green. Thomas may be a schemer, stirring up trouble, but he isn’t heartless. I respect Baxter drawing the line with him, not divulging her suspicions. I am really glad Thomas and Baxter put the past behind them and became true friends, especially when Thomas needed one the most.

Miss Baxter is by far the most beautiful and attractive woman on the entire Downton abbey show and she is the one woman on the show that I would want as a girlfriend or wife,she even makes Mary look plain.Baxters beauty is simply stunning.

Baxter is so much Nicer than O’Brian

I always find it infuriating that Cora always put her trust in O'Brien, Edna, and Thomas but found it hard to trust Baxter. Cora never seemed to have a good judge of character. She even did it with her own children. Was she that naive and ignorant? Or just blind to the tension some of them carried with them? Cora was a character I least found interesting. And might I mention, I disdained the way Cora treated Isobel. She always treated her as a burden. Meanwhile Cora gave complete loyalty to O'Brien, even though O'Brien set her up to loose her baby who would have been an heir. Baxter was a much kinder lady's maid.

I never understood why so many viewers liked Barrow. Even at the end.

Thomas is such a snake, he would lock a poor dog up in a shed and walk away, blackmail a ladies maid to try to have her spy for him, sneak uninvited into another man's bedroom while he is asleep and try to kiss him, acts bossy all the time and then cries because "nobody likes him". I know I have left out plenty of other despicable. conniving things he has done.

The headline is almost like Baxter has a deep dark lesbian crush on cora.

Thomas was one Downton character that I just didn't like... And for the record, it has nothing to do with his being gay and everything to do with his conduct. The man was so scheming and deceptive that he couldn't ask for water if he was thirsty. I've watched the entire series and the movie and I never saw him do a single thing [up to and including having his dinner and going to bed at night] that he didn't try to manipulate to his advantage. The character is reprehensible man of low character who simply knows how to keep up an image. Definitely a blind spot in the Crawley family's generally good ability to spot those who wish them ill.

Baxter amazing, but Cora again show what it means to be a lady.
