Male circumcising is completely different from FGM. While perhaps unnecessary there are some health benefits and it makes hygiene easier. Just google why circumcise and you’ll get the pros and cons. FGM serves no benefit and results in a lifetime of pain. Circumcising a male results in about a week of pain in an adult. It’s like braces, not child abuse.

Mustafa’s biggest fan isn’t his own mother or any of the women he slept with. It’s his youngest brother by Hurrem. Good shows always have a variety of relationships highlighted not just the romantic ones. Sumbal and Hurrem loyalty and service. This friendship among brothers. Sultan and Ibrahim’s relationship being like brothers.

Yup! If it wasn't for that stupid law and the harem rules the kids would be able to be close and stay close. Say what you want about hurrem but she never blocked Mustafa from his siblings from what I've seen but mahiridan? Yup she did and wonders why the sultan can't stand her

@P.R Breezy Dane I agree completely. Most people agree that FGM is barbaric but so many are okay with genital mutilation of boys. It makes no sense to me. It’s just as barbaric. We are born with the body parts we are meant to have.

@@ningusorama8040 its sunnah (tradition) yes, but it also Sheriakh which is a islamic law. It is one of the rules of Islam . The main reason given for the ritual is cleanliness. It is essential that every Muslim washes before praying. It is important that no urine is left on the body. Its also a sign of of faith. Its not enforced but its become a tradition. There are also other religions that do other rituals but you cant say that its unnecessary because thats offensive.

@@medixstar9184 I’m very well aware that it’s a custom in other religions also. Doesn’t make it any better. And you can never hide behind a religion when you want to make something wrong right. It’s completely irrelevant what it says in a scripture. If you find it offensive that’s completely your own problems. To circumcise children for other reasons except strictly medical is wrong. Let them chose when they’re adults.

I don't understand why Bayezid gets angry in the slightest issues. He always complains that his parents loves Selim more than him but he don't want to see why. He gets angry at Selim for everything. Like here, Selim just said his outfit was dashing and he goes to fight just for that? And he always wanted to throw Selim away from Manisa rather than concentrating on his duties. That's why he lost his parents support bcuz of Anger issues

He is a typical younger brother reacting to being teased by elder brother. Mustafa did not do that. Nor Mehmet. Selim did tease. Bayezid teased back. Everyone just loved the youngest. He is typical ignored middle child. Why can’t I do what Selim gets to do? Selim and Bayezid were too close in age probably. Most of this is just made up relationships. Except maybe the youngest and oldest since their deaths were close together and somewhat related and historically connected from the time. I think it is great the show made the brothers so different yet all similar in some way to their dad.

I have finished this Turkish drama series and the reason why Bayezid is angry at Selim even the slightest chance they see each other or interact is that they Selim is the black sheep of the 5 Princes. There was once an incident when they're both were attack and Selim was nearly killed Bayezid (already grown up Prince) save him and didn't tell truth to his father about this incident and thus make him seem that he managed all those troubles and when they were little Princes Suleiman ask to give him one gift and Suleiman likes Bayezid's gift more than Selim's and fit of rage and jealousy he tore apart Bayezid's gift thus making the situation worst and I can conclude it's all Selim's fault why Bayezid has an attitude on him. Sadly I can no longer remember what kind of gift they had given Sultan Suleiman.

How did they survive (in those days) circumcision? Sorry, I've only heard and read of it and from that, what I could gather is that, it's a painful procedure which could possibly end up in a fatal consequence especially because of the lack of hygiene and proper sterilization.

I grew up in a family of 10 siblings, I can relate that Selim and Bayezid are the closest in age, possibly born in the same year. It’s competitive to get their parent’s attention. The parent in question is not the sultan but Hurrem. I have two brothers born in the same year but they are not twins. Older born in January and the younger born in November. They fought all the time as kids, in adulthood they don’t speak to each other to this day. The younger brother accused my mother of always taking sides with my older brother. So watching this , Selim is Hurrem’s favorite. He has her marvelous red hair trait. And the fact after Her Mehmet, it was Selim’s birth promoted her status in the Harem beating Meri. Bayezid birth was a bonus, to Hurrem of course. But I think Hurrem showed a fondness to Selim that Bayezid is jealous of. I also note that Bayezid is an inpatient person, he tends to skip the line a lot. He disregarded that Selim is his older brother .

People should fight for FGM of 21th Century, make a tragedy under this video for something that we can't change because it happened in the past I don't find the sense.
