@@carsenmaxwell3336 I'd have to see atleast one game, where her characterization didn't begin and end with essentially being just a red and white Bayonetta, before I'd feel the need to see her star in a standalone adventure. Frankly I've never understood what about getting to play a full game as Bayonetta's more luridly coloured bedfellow is supposed to make it an appealing proposition to people. Like this Bonus Chapter is the closest her character and (past) rivalry with Cereza has ever come to feeling genuinely compelling on her own right, yet Jeanne still can't escape having functionally identical toolkit with Cereza's. Another important thing is cereza not knowing about fairies and not even acting surprise that “Lukaon” was alive. And the main factor, she didn’t have Cheshire as her demon in Bayo 3. You would think she’ll summon the most trustworthy demon she actually became family with even more than Madama butterfly but no. So that’s why I don’t think it’s the same timeline

I don't think this is an alternate timeline. Only the original Bayonetta (and not a variant) is referred to by Singularity as "Arch-Eve Origin". So technically this is really the past.

@@mistermistero7080 read my previous comment and you will know what I mean, him calling her arch eve origins makes no sense at all as she doesn’t know what fairies are in bayo 3 ( strider literally looks like Lukaon boss form I mean we know why), she hasn’t summon Cheshire which technically would be her most loyal demon eve n more than Madama as he’s her friend and would surely keep alive for a long time. Jeanne isn’t stupid enough to not avoid such simple attack let alone knowing it’ll happen to her cuz things about vision even if not shown here but the unspoken rule of future vision usually goes along the lines that you can see the place and such where it’ll happen so she clearly saw the setting and environment and would put one and one together and avoid such attack. And These are just a few of many inconsistencies. Also her having bayo 1 hairstyle at the end is another one. Also there’s the other unspoken rule that one small change in the past will cause a big in the future and thus why the “different timelines theory was created” Singularity by just being there and physically interacting with our characters already caused a split. Jeanne knowing her fate already can cause a different outcome for example. At the end of the day, this is a mess and that is why time traveling and different universes are such a complex and hard thing to pull off. They should just kept bayo fighting demons and angels, and yes fairies too without adding so much that confuses us.

I mean as a villain I liked Singularity- Then again I always do like a smart villain. How the whole ending of Bayonetta 3 was handled on the other hand- Well I don't think they should have tried to imitate how DMC5 effectively ended.

I think he's something like a Revenant at this point- Just too damn stubborn to die and using his multiverse BS somehow managed to traverse Cereza's memories to try to catch her at point where she'd be weak so he could attempt to achieve his original goal... Whatever it was.

I figured the last attack just outright shredded him to the point what we see here is the best the Homunculi healing factor could do, on top of his being left severely weakened. Which in turn explains why his attacks lack their usual oomph.

shrug, just because you didn't liked it doesn't Bayonetta 3 story was any worse than the previous two games ,it took actual risks to move the series somewhere different I enjoyed the story a lot and the characters and twists sure it could have been more fleshed out at certain parts, but it is the story Hideki Kamiya wanted to tell and its fine as it is, just like Bayonetta Origins is ok as well

Imitating how DMC5 ended by having the main character we've played as the whole series be trapped in the underworld so the reigns could be passed off to the next generation? I think they should have waited one or two more numbered entries in the series before that- At least so we can spend more time with Viola so we have a similar opinion of her as we do Nero now.

@@astraldog3359 Bayo 1 and 2's stories might have been presented in needlessly convoluted manner and had weird moving parts, they didn't bother to stop and explain, but atleast those stories felt internally consistent and revolved around engaging characters. Bayo 3 is in such a hurry to wrap things up in a big and epic climactic fashion, that in its rush to get there it does just about everything wrong a story of its kind can do, by literally and figuratively butchering most of its cast and potentially undermining any sense of consistency and consequence going forward. More often than not multiverse is poison to storytelling and Platinum were clearly out of their depth when it comes to incorporating it.

If you take a closer look at his appearance and the way he attacks, Singularity is actually a lot weaker than he used to be. His legs and arms are withering away. He’s unable to summon his fellow homunculi and relies on Cereza’s memories instead. This is Singularity from Bayonetta 3 who survived its destruction. It used its powers over time harvested from the countless versions of Bayonetta in a last ditch attempt to escape to the past and destroy Cereza when she was still a child… which didn’t work at all and led to him getting his ass handed to him by JEANNE, AS A CHILD!😂

@@reicho3034 see, i love balder and loptr because DESPITE that they take FOREVER to talk, the lore represents themselves through their actions. singularity does nothing to present itself as a threat but more of a punching bag. in bayo 3, the only reason why he could fuck up is because my theory is about how singularity leads bayonetta (cereza, and her variants) through a very specific and *narrow* way where he could kill them off. i still want to think singularity needs to be written *properly* because it would be a fun way for him to be the last resort to something far more sinister? like imagine if singularity was made to keep the trinity of realities alive through an unprecedented / unorthodox way but goes completely corrupted and is actively killing the thing that would tip the balance of the Eyes of the World? Also, it'd fun to think about some lovecraftian monster hiding somewhere around the galaxy and is trying to force the Trinity to kill itself and whatnot

I reckon that this one remaining part of Singularity travelled back in time to ensure he would avoid his defeat, but ended up erased while creating a casual loop and ensuring his defeat in the future. Thus creating a singularity. 😎

Not really as Singularity has traveled to the past after his defeat in Bayonetta 3. His permanent defeat in this timeline has made no effect whatsoever.

Time traveled? I don't think so at all. But even if it were as you say, it did indeed have an influence! Jeanne knows what will happen to him now. And this his other self of Bayonetta 3 did not know, because he did not expect it. The future will be changed. Also because Bayonetta has done the hairstyle of the first chapter.

Bayo 3 had to happen in order for this to make sense. It happened before with Balder in Bayo 2 giving needed context for Bayo 1.

Simply clear the main game storyline, but I think it's a 100% clear bonus.
